I remember the last time the Suns clinched the west to make it to the NBA finals. It was game 7 vs the Supersonics at home and Barkley went off and they destroyed the Sonics. I remember jumping up and down screaming all excited. That was the year I moved to AZ and fell in love with the Suns when Barkley came over.

Thank goodness Torrey Craig got out of the Monty doghouse -- he had the BEST plus/minus of any player yet he didn't score a lot. Hustle getting loose balls and very good defense on PG. Now the 2nd unit with Cam Payne/Cam Johnson/Torrey Craig can outplay either the Bucks or Hawks 2nd unit. Hard to believe the Suns won by 27 pts overcoming the free throw attempts were 32-11 in favor of the Clips. |

Rebounding in second half was much improved. |

For a while it seemed like the announcers and NBA were doing all they could to force a game 7, but the Suns just refused to play along. |

Rebounding in second half was much improved. CP3 has had this habit in the playoffs of taking over in a offensive spurt in the 4th to get the Suns over the hump. I am still in shock and awe with his performance last night. Not only 16 year HOF career with no finals appearance before this year, but how many times his team had the series in the bag and lose it, even being up 3-1 and collapse. Just amazing, so happy to eat crow and see CP3 make it. |

I just thought I would post this link for all of the Suns fans here. As you know, I don't follow basketball...still, it seems both Cards fans and Suns fans has something in common. Neither are perianal winners. Wouldn't it be something if Arizona could bring home two championships in more or less the same year. Here is the link from SB Nation... its a short read. I was seven years old the last time the Suns played in an NBA Finals. I stopped following the NBA in 2011 as kids, school and football took up most of my time
My sons have taken the passion up for me over the last couple of seasons, telling me how much I am missing with Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton and Mikal Bridges.
Then the Suns acquired Chris Paul and it completely transformed this franchise.
Getting Monty Williams and Chris Paul has changed this franchise and given them a chance to reach the finals and maybe... Just maybe win their first NBA Finals in franchise history" |
