He's not throwing turnovers, taking sacks or fumbling the ball.
I counted about 3 dropped balls this game but I counted about 5-6 missed throws where he should've had the guy or at least given his receiver a chance to catch the ball.
He had a rough game but it wasn't a multi turnover type of "bad" game. Against a better defense though he probably would've thrown a pick or two.
On another note.
Why is JJ Nelson on this team? We know he can't catch so maybe put him in a position to succeed somewhere else? Run a jet sweep fake with him or maybe hand it to him on the sweep? Maybe a reverse? Oh wait, that would require creativity from our OC. Honestly though,if we're not going to have him on the field at all, you might as well cut his butt and get someone who can catch.

I was thinking the exact same thing. He had a horrible second half but didn't turn it over. I'm going to make excuses for him so I'll guess that his second half struggles were due to him trying to finesse a bit after the never ending drops. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Nelson should have been cut in the preseason so I have nothing to add there. Never should have been drafted for that matter.

I'm a Rosen fan boy as well(He was #1 on my list of the QBs available) but I think it's key to also hold him accountable.
Whereas last game, I felt justified completely blaming the drops, this game was different. He had a couple of really bad throws where he didn't even give his receiver a chance to catch the ball. I'm not expecting perfection from Josh Rosen in his first year and I think this is great experience for him. There will be good weeks and bad weeks but the key is if he can minimize the bad weeks like this week where he had a bad performance but didn't cost his team the game.
I'm still not completely sold on Wilks which is hard to say because I wanted him to get the job. I was okay with him being a defensive minded head coach but that was because i thought he was a bold young guy who was willing to take chances. What I've seen through the first five weeks is a coach who doesn't trust his offense to do the job and would rather play it safe and "hope" to win the game vs taking a chance to end the game with an aggressive call.
Example. Against the Bears on that 3rd down where we ran the ball. The second we ran the ball, I literally yelled out loud "COWARD!" I wasn't necessarily yelling that at one specific person, but that was a cowardly play. We subsequently missed the field goal and the Bears won.

You have a rookie QB starting his first game. About what I expected. Not many rookie QB come in and light it up from the get go. Probably going to have more games like this one. Just as long as he keeps showing improvement is all we can hope for his first year. Especially with the team he has around him.

My post was a positive for him in that while he didn't have a great game, he didn't cost his team the game with turnovers. I'm very excited about that.

Rosen . in my opinion, is the 2nd coming of Peyton Manning.. that kind of QB saavy, knowledge on the field, he needs skill players, not 5' 6" great 40 yd time lightweights, but actual tall physical guys who can create space between themselves and the ball. Smoke, JJ, Chad Williams( to be determined). Leave team speed to DBs and Linebackers, I think the only thing that slows Rosen's learning curve is McCoy's offense. Don't mean to sound negative after the team's 1st 2018 win, but there is still alot of work to be done. Go Big Red! Counting the days til next Sunday.

Before the season started, I was hoping Rosen would just be holding a clipboard and learning for a year. Last week, they put him in and he looked pretty dam good. I thought OK, I was wrong.
Now I'm back to my original thinking. This team is simply not ready to support a rookie QB no matter how good he is. I think it really showed today. I do believe he has the right mindset to overcome disappointments, but that can only go so far. If he has to suffer more of the same in the future, it may destroy his confidence as strong as it might be.
Wilks and McCoy better figure this out quickly, or we may ruin him.

I completely get your point but I think Josh is from a different mindset. As ugly as this game was from an offensive standpoint, the rook wasn't harassed too much in the backfield as far as near hits or even sacks. To me, any game where he gets these reps, is invaluable toward his progress vs. the next opponent. And there's really no turning back now, with Bradford's exile and no Maricopa County Cardinal fan wants to pay to see Mike Glennon start in person... It's Kinda on the kid now.

Having Josh go through a game like today has to be a good growing experience for the young QB. He lost most of his accuracy towards the end of the game and film will show this, now he can learn to deal with these issues. He looks comfortable with Kirk and Larry, he just needs a solid #3 option, the RSJ disappeared this week. The FA wide receiver coming in this week would be a nice addition.
I feel our offense and defense can play much better going forward. We should have a better time with the 49'ers when they visit in a few weeks.

They are going to try to ruin him for sure, the second half was bad, these fools are trying to use him to save their worthless rears..McCoy can't teach him anything...only dumb him up..lol

I never wanted Rosen sitting for an entire year(unless Bradford was taking us to the playoffs). My ideal scenario for Rosen's progression this year was let Bradford last 8-10 games and bring Rosen in for the last 6-8. I understand the value of Rosen learning but you can only learn so much from the sideline and I didn't want to go into next year with Rosen having little to no game experience. If that were the case, you'd almost go into next year with the mindset that the entire year is based around Rosen's progression and not being a legitimate team with playoff aspirations. With Bradford playing so poorly, you can get through the ups and downs of having an experienced QB this year, and go into next year with legitimate goals. I could not imagine us being 1-4 next year and talking about us seeing signs that Rosen could be a legitimate QB. By this time next year, I expect Rosen to be leading this team and being productive.

Fisher's incompetence didn't ruin Goff, so here's hoping the same goes for Rosen getting ruined.
