As far as I know this hasn't been posted yet. I found this article/tweet about why they used Chase rather than DJ on that 3-2 late in the game. linkBasically, he was pulled off the field for missing a block on the prior play. I can't say I agree with the reasoning, but there you go.

because he got a huge contract. he gets paid the same for 0 yards as a million. why work when welfare pays the same? he was a product of arianas system for 1 year. many running backs would have done as good o5 better that year with the element of surprise. in reality dj is backup quality who can have good spurts.

So...can we wait to go over missing a blocking assignment during film review with the players during the week instead of on 3rd and 2 when a called running play from our opponent's 42 yard line is being called with 2:00 to play??? Or do we have to have all our coaches take Pop Warner class 101??? You've got to be kidding me!!!

I'd like someone to find the 2nd down play where he said he missed a block. I still can't find it. My thinking is, he's covering for someone or it wasn't the 2nd down play right before the infamous 3rd and 2

Say you thought he was injured, say his mom called, I don't know, anything. Maybe Belicheck can park say a Gronkowski at a critical time in a game to send a message. Not this bunch.

If I was the HEAD coach and Kirby is talking to my back about a missed block I'd be screaming Arians style "get his arse back on the field".

Not sure if the real reason why he was not in there was discussed, but it doesn't matter. Its was a thing to do. Over the last few years, we have seen this time and again. We have a short yardage situation and we give it to a small RB. What the hell is the reason for having a full back if you don't use him for short yardage. Hell, I would put both DJ and our fullback in there. Let them guess who was going to take it.

Whoa first post....Welcome aboard pendy. I too criticize from time to time. When I do, I would rather eat crow anytime than for me to get to say I was right. I just want the team to win. When they do, I get to feel good for a week.

yes seriously. look at his career stats. there are a few teams who's backups have more yards than dj. he had one good year when he had the elemnt of surprise and was left uncovered often and allowed to run free. any back could excel under that condition. now that the field isn't stretched and he is covered he struggle to get 50 yards in a game. those are backup numbers. that's why he wanted the big guaranteed contract before stepping on the field again. he knows the jig was up and he was going to be exposed for what he really is. a back up who got lucky and flourished under a system that caught defenses off guard for 1 season. would you give him that contract based on his last 3 games? he, I and anyone paying attention know it. I said preseason it would be in the teams best interest to trade him not pay him because he was going to perform exactly as he has. it was not hard to see it coming. and that old fart Adrian got more yards in his last game for 1/10th the salary as dj has gotten all year. follow the math. math doesn't lie.

Maybe he thinks that would be too complicated for the Offense to handle . . .

its both redb. he did good under arinas and sux under wilks. he is not the superman he pretended to be. he made it look easy that single year because it was easy when nobody covered him. now they are assigning people to him and not forgetting about him. the element of surprise is gone. he was performing last year the same as he performed this year in the little he played. ne noticed it was hard last year and that's why he held out for a contract. he knew he could never do it again and wanted paid like he was the beatles and not paula Abdul. he suckered the cards and fans not paying attention. its why he didn't even attempt to come back last year, like he runs on his wrist. I remember when running backs got a cast and were back by the 4th quarter if they broke an arm. he knew how much harder it was in the little he played last year is why. he knew he wasn't gonna get paid big for 50 yards a game. Peterson was a beast and would have 2X the yards with the cards now as dj does. we kept the wrong player.
