Just realized I posted this at around 8:30 AM yesterday -
Nicely done! Someone else called it pretty close too. I’m really happy that we have no reason to be calling out Vance Joseph and the defense, like we did almost every game thread last year. There was one weakness on defense and that was our rookie starter, and that’s to be expected especially in 2020 with a weird camp and no pre-season games. I’m also really happy there were no real reasons to call out the Oline. Kugler is all he was hyped up to be. I’d like to see a bit more run game toughness, but they held up well. Kyler looked a bit rusty early but quickly seemed to turn it on, and the difference from game 1 a year ago was amazing. He also gelled with Hopkins with pinpoint accuracy. 14 of 16 to Hopkins, and on one of the misses Hopkins ran the wrong route. That will be ironed out, and Fitz and Kirk will have their days too. Sherman was on the right side most of the game, and Kyler took advantage of their weaknesses. other than penalties and rookie mistakes, which will be fixed, there was very little to complain about. Excited for this year!
