Lol at this entire thread Yep we all looked like a bunch of fools didn't we...…... Don't let 1 game get you down. This thread was a great idea. They have to figure out a way to get DJ in space. It may take a few weeks but it's going to happen. This is a league of adjustments. DJ is the real deal.

Everyone should know that McCoys offense will never be as "robust" as BA's was. Lets just hope it can develop some usable wrinkles in the coming weeks.

Realizing that, I wonder if we have the right QB. Is Bradford a game managing type of QB or more of a gunslinger? Seems to me should have gotten Alex Smith for this kind of offense. What sayeth you?

When some wanted Alex to be our next QB. on the old board in the offseason, a large number of posters had a hemorrhage and a major fit of epic proportions. Called him Captain Check down and worse, just like they are dong now to Sam. But the team did not acquire Alex so it's kind of moot now isn't it?

I hated the Bradford move because I think the guy is done. That said AS couldn't be signed to a contract that dumps him in 1 or 2 years. That's the only rational for SK signing Bradford. He can be cut after this season. We probably draft Mahomes last year if the Chiefs, who had AS didn't outmaneuver our GM. Believe me the Chiefs O looks miles better than it ever did with Smith. It's only 1 game but the kid looks like a playmaker. We lucked into Rosen this year. If we had Smith we would have had to give up a player and a third and paid him for a minimum of 3 years with dead cap in year 4. We probably also don't move up to grab Rosen. Last year KC with Smith and a QB friendly HC moved up to draft Mahomes. We drafted a linebacker who would be on someone practice squad if he wasn't a first round pick. The question is why is Mike McCoy the OC?

I didn't literally mean specificAlly Smith, just meant that type of qb. I am never sure why we have so many guys that don't seem to match with what we are trying to do. It always seems to me like we try to fit sq pegs into round holes each and every year, instead of just releasing some guys and trying to get only those who fit our style and schemes. The pats are excellent at doing that, as one might expect.

Bradford's a guy who's money is in the safe.

good thing I didn't see this till it was too late, but I did predict exactly what would happen. he cant get yards in dink and dunk, and one you have to start playing catchup it takes the running game odd the table. he got paid and will never be able to come close to earning it. with his yardage at the end of the year being less than most teams backup running backs I don't think he will even have any trade value left. thats cap money down the drain. we should have traded him not paid him. we could have come out ahead not behind. he didn't have a good game even healthy and has spent time on ir every year. with any luck this will be fitz last year so we'll get out of that cap hit. but paying dj big money to play in wilks dink and dunk was a very move. it has no chance of success. the cards will need to hire haley or some one like him for dj to have any chance of earning his money.

Nostradamus, did he get a no trade contract? I'm not aware of it. Unless he does the deal makes him much more valuable in trade because it's a team friendly deal. That's if you wanted to trade your best offensive player when you're trying to develop your QB of the future. Seems like a dumb move but very doable. I suspect we could trade him to Pittsburgh right now.
