I hope you stick to football. It's the season opener and it's the first game of a new era.... if McCain died after week 1 I would say go for it.

Gets that out of your head. Mccain was an AZ institution and very close with the Cards team. Secondly, what difference does it make that its week 1? This idea that its game 1 and therefore extra important is silly. Its not important. Its no more special than week 5. It may be the start of a new era, but the death of mccain is the end of an era thats 10,000x more important. as was said, this game is the 1 time in which case RIP mccain can ever be put on that banner. And you better believe there will be a moment of silence at the game. So the banner will probably get a full TV zoom during that. |

I'm just putting in my vote (even if it doesn't matter, I know that's not how it works). And I do believe that the first game is more important in some ways. It can really set the tone for the season and it can give the players, the staff, and the whole organization some much needed confidence given we have a new HC, coordinators, etc... not to mention 45% of the player roster. I think a win in week 1 is BIG. |
