Perfect. Let's hope he makes it out of Indy.

If I were Keim on the phone, I would say something to the effect of making sure he examines all his options before deciding where to go. He still needs to pass his physicals.

Would be a solid #2.

You'd have to think that Josh Norman is in his ear telling him how awesome Wilks was as a defensive coach. Should carry a lot of weight in where he decides to go.

21. Bashaud Breeland, Washington Redskins
Coverage: 20/25 Reaction: 20/25 Recovery: 17/25 Tackling: 9/15 Position Value: 10/10 Overall Grade: 76/100
He doesn't have the same reputation as his teammate Norman, but quietly Breshaud Breeland had a stellar season for the Washington Redskins. His vastly improved balance on changes in direction resulted in 19 passes defensed, a career high. He's an excellent athlete, capable of playing press-man coverage and routinely forcing tough catches. He's not much of an interception threat, but he's a high-end No. 2 corner at worst right now.
Breeland could be a really solid option 1) At the right price 2) If he is healthy
Even if Wilks and Co. have faith in our current DB's, we still would be best off to add stronger depth to the room.

Breeland is only 26 which I love since he is just going into his physical peak -- hopefully SK can structure an incentive-laden contract to get it done. If one of the young guys (under Wilks tutelage) steps up, then Breeland won't see as many snaps and will not get paid the incentives; however if Breeland performs > Marcus Cooper and the young guys don't push him, then the Cards will have an improved defense with ability to resign Breeland for beyond 2019 when the team has better cap maneuverability.

There's always room for more quality CBs, its only of those positions you can't be too deep since usually all of them see some action over the course of a game. I remember the first Green Bay overtime game where Rodgers was picking on our 5th string CB Adams all day because the GB 5th string WR was able to get open on him pretty much every play. Even if Breeland doesn't start, he'll be used a lot I'm sure.

If Breeland likes what he hears and can pass a physical, sign him. I watched Breeland at the Redskins games a few times. He can contribute on day 1.

Reminder: Before the Panthers voided the offer on the basis of a failed physical, they had offered Breeland a 3-year, $24m contract according to media reports. $8M per year is well above his true market value, IMO.
The Redskins didn't come close to the CAR offer and that's partly why Breeland said goodbye to Snyder. Maybe we'll find out today (Friday, 18 May) what happened at UofP yesterday.

Kent Somers reports that Breeland met with the team yesterday and left with no deal imminent.
