The Cardinals have 34 million in dead money. Most in the league. And they have around 6 million in cap space. It's the worst discrepancy of any team (Giants are close). it' the inverse r/t you don't want . You want those numbers to be reversed. But it's on Keim. When he took over the job he said he needed time to clean up all the dead money contracts. Yes he actually said that.

The collapse of Seattle is just around the corner. Schneider is terrible and the Hawks have cap problems. That was two years ago. Say what! Seattle has $20M+ in cap space for this year and almost $60M in 2020, which is the 6th most in the league. I'd say that you're a bit outdated with your opinions. You're correct it was an outdated opinion. that was the point. The Seahawks were supposed to burn to the ground a couple of years ago. Terrible GM. Bad cap situation. Too many guys on D they couldn't keep. They cut guys before they hit the wall. smart team. Smart people running it.

Steve Keim: Cardinals traded Rosen because Kyler is a generational talent
Cardinals General Manager Steve Keim poured a whole lot of resources into the quarterback position in 2018, with nothing to show for it in 2019. And he’s OK with that.
Keim signed Sam Bradford and paid him $16 million before cutting him midway through the season, signed Mike Glennon and paid him $5 million before cutting him after the season, and traded up to the 10th overall pick in the draft to select Josh Rosen and traded him away for the 62nd overall pick a year later.
So why does Keim feel good about himself now? Because, he says, 2019 first overall pick Kyler Murray is going to be so great that he makes everything else worth it.
“You have to make the tough decisions and avoid the outside noise— ‘Why’d you give up on this guy? Why would you trade this guy?'” Keim told TheRinger.com. “It’s unprecedented. I took [Rosen] in the top 10. I just felt that [Murray] was a generational talent that I just couldn’t pass up.”
Keim has made a very big bet on Murray. If it turns out that he bet wrong, it may be the last time he gets to choose a franchise quarterback.

"Nothing to show for it, and he's OK with that." Yep that sums up Keim as far as I can tell.

Just one of many draft picks that he has nothing to show for it. And the ones that are still around are average at best. That includes D Johnson. A lot of backs in this league have had 1 and a half good years and that's their whole career. Need to see what DJ brings this year to fully judge him. Still and all SK drafts as a whole have been far from stellar.

Steve Keim Still Gets A CHECK!
LOYAL FANS GET THE SHAFT!
The losers are Michael Bidwill The Fan Base Players that contribute The Organization loses when when the other players around the league won't want to come to play for the Cardinals.

I don't buy any of it. I believe that right up to the moment they drafted Murray they were unsure of what they were doing and were hoping for a trade.

Like it or not this is the way I see it. When SK drafted Rosen, I was on board as most here was. It seemed like a very good move. At that time, we had no idea we would finish last and have the #1 overall pick the very next year. However, it did happen. While you could certainly argue Rosen had no chance to shine last year for all kinds of reasons. The thing that bothered me most about him last year was that he seemed to regress as the year went on. Again, that's not all on him. Still and for me, that gave me doubts. Now fast forward. There is Kyler Murray there for the taking. Do you pass on him just because, or do we go for it? I do think that Kyler Murray is a generational talent and we had to go for it. I'm happy we did, but that doesn't mean I am right. As far as only getting a 62nd overall pick for Rosen. You could put some of that on SK for not being shrewder, but not all. If all the GM's from other teams thought he was a true QBoF, we would have gotten a #1 pick with not much effort. They did not. "Keim has made a very big bet on Murray. If it turns out that he bet wrong, it may be the last time he gets to choose a franchise quarterback."
That we can all agree on...

A guy on 98.7 Vince Moron says Keim will be forgiven for all his other drafts if KM works out. Really?
KM was clearly the number one pick in the draft. The only reason we had the number one pick in the draft was because of the bad work of Keim.
It's not enough that KM turns out to be a super stud player (i believe he will). You have to be able to draft well to build a winner.

HI Aris,
Good to see you! Where is your friend WVCardinal? I was laughing at your post where you quoted him saying the Seahawks would fall apart. That Russell Wilson would start going down hill. I remember him saying that they would have losing seasons like 6-10 then 4-12 or something like that. I kept waiting for his predictions LOL. Keim had these superior drafts LOL. Like 2016 HAHAHA? I remember all of his crazy talk. Vic Beasley was going to be great PRO BOWLER LOL. That guy didnt know a draft pick from a pin the tail on the donkey game by a bunch of kids. I remember When I would ask him what he thought of a certain player. It was always Not much or nm. LOL He never liked a guy I liked. He always would pump a guy we could never get to draft because we were drafting late in the first round.
You were spot on lol CardinalDO was as well.

Still and all SK drafts as a whole have been far from stellar. There was ZERO reason to give DJ a huge contract one year before he was due. If he was an elite CB or pass rusher maybe. But for heavens sake he's a running back. Look what happened when you took the carrot away. He took a dump. I agree this is a huge year for DJ. Lots of talk from him and his fans but in all honesty the performance has never matched. He's had essentially one good year. I like him. He's a nice humble guy. But I'd rather have an asshole who performs.
