6 years in his tenure and last place team overall. Most of his first round picks have been busts. He blew the entire 2016 draft. Cardinals have the most dead money in the NFL at 34 million along with a cap space of 6 million dollars. only the Giants have that inverse relationship that badly. It's the relationship you don't want. No other teams are that close. All those contracts fans were yelling "give him the money" has really hurt. HB, Greschem, etc. still paying. Keim , when he came on board after the Graves era, said it would take time clearing away all the dead money from the franchise that he inherited. I guess it's not easy running a franchise is it Steve. The Browns have 21 million in dead money. BUT they have 35 million in cap space. The Broncos are pretty close to the Cards/Giants in that they have 2 million in cap space and 21 million in dead money. And they have no franchise QB. But I digress. overthecap.com/salary-cap-space/fast forward 2019 and all I hear is how great this young team is moving forward. We got Murray (fantastic ), not much in the WR room, Oline is garbage and our defense is very much unknown yet.

SK was never a top 5 in my mind. He had some good signings on prove it deals. His drafts were always head scratchers, and we all know how most of his drafts turned out.
No. More like SK is in the bottom 5 GM's for me. He just hasn't produced in the GM capacity. Especially in the draft. When your best drafted player in the 1st round in the last 5 years is Humph....well that pretty bad.

LOL, this is a rhetorical question right? Anyone who thinks a guy who serves up a 3-13 disaster can be a top-5 GM has more than one screw loose. If the evidence is right there, there's no need to get into any more specifics than that.

Easily top 5 they said. I'm more bothered that so many were back on his bandwagon because of the draft. Did it take a genius to draft Kyler Murray? He's going to be a great QB in this league but I don't give Keim much credit for this selection. And he bungled the trade of Rosen that went with it. He had the first pick in every round. He has the first dibs on any waiver player. .Why? Because 6 years in we have the worst team in football.

I'm so old I remember the days when fans were laughing at the substandard Seattle GM named Schneider, boss man Keim was now in charge of the NFC West and would be ascending to the throne in short order. We're coming up on four years since the Cardinals played a complete game so I'm not in the mood for any more "Keim top 5" talk. It's an insult to any reasonable person's intelligence.

The collapse of Seattle is just around the corner. Schneider is terrible and the Hawks have cap problems. That was two years ago.

SK drafts are horrid. I think SK thinks he is doing well otherwise he would have cleaned house of the scouting dept years ago. Either the guy is unlucky, incompetent or doesn’t listen to the experts.
If SK continues to stay on as GM he shouldn’t be allowed near the Cards war room till day 3.

CONSIDERING I WANTED KEIM FIRED BEFORE THE DRAFT IF ANYONE RECALLS.
I used to defend him. Then one by one our first round picks were FLOPS our 4th round picks never hung around or were cut (Dorian Johnsoon) Evan Boehm, etc Our 5th round pick was stupidly cut for a kicker to try out and fail to make the team. Marquis Christian was that DB The Rams picked him up.
I got laughed at when I said Logan Thomas should be converted to tight end. Well guess what pposition he plays folks Tight End. BA was too stubborn to try the fit at tight end.
Keim is on his way out if this fails and fast

It wasn't just those two, it was the majority of the forum including some mods like Rimrock that sang Keim's praises. Nonetheless, that is okay. All of us have been wrong at some point about players and personnel. I'm no different. It's difficult to predict how certain people will perform. All of us have the same goal in mind. We want to see the Cardinals have success and that's what counts.
I've been fairly negative about Keim and the Cardinals situation. But to offer some hope, I feel like the Cardinals will get their version of Mike Hazen in the off-season. I feel that with an exciting coach and QB, a good GM can surround them with a good offensive line and skilled position players. Keim obviously didn't do that this off-season and that will hurt the Cardinals. But I feel that our new GM will do that. And I like the Kyler Murray signing. I started the thread about Murray last January and claimed he was better than Baker Mayfield (which most disagreed with). I'm an OU fan and watched every Baker and Kyler game and Kyler is better. I still stand by that.

problem is /; sk will be here for sure next year n probably the year after that. I agree. He was just signed to his extension. When the Cards go 5-11/6-10 the Cards will be riding the "we are improving" bandwagon. 2-3 years down the road we'll revisit that progress.
