I think this board has a chance of going away before half of these choices come to pass. Freeforums might cease to exist for any number of reasons. The web developers here might need to come together and make our own website and forum one day.

Oh, and this is the weirdest thread ever.

I’m not sure. It depends how long I continue being a fan of the nfl. The last couple years I have lost interest. It’s more about the privilege that some of ppl in the nfl take advantage of. Both some the players and some of the office personnel think that they are better than the normal person. Makes me nauseous at times. I hope that all professional sports come off their Perch and realize they are just people too. The money involved in professional sports is out of control. The nature of competition is good but the money is ruining sports. IMHO! but as long as I’m a football fan, I’ll be a Cardinals fan. I appreciate the opportunity to share my thoughts on a message board like this. Thanks to everyone here, it is enjoyable.

rooseveltcardsfan.
Have you just recently come to this epiphany? I am an old geezer near retirement, and when I was in high school, the football players, cheerleaders and other jocks acted that way. They were God's gift to us lowly normals, and they rarely interacted with us unless forced to by virtue of class work, etc. They have always considered themselves elite, and always will. Apologies if this posts as a reply to the original post, I could not find a way to post as a "guest" in reply to roosevelt. And, I hope I don't come across as too harsh, but I seriously feel the jocks have always been so. thanks for your patience! Go Bears!

I love this team. So many decades of disappointment but I'm still here. I see a sad trend ahead for the NFL
Kids and young people have lost interest. A great comparison would be the OLDSMOBILE. In the 1980's the OLDS CUTLASS SUPREME was the top selling car . Now they are gone for good. The NFL is killing itself in a slow suicide death.

Welcome, Bears guy - Mind if I chime in?
Yes, it has always been so - High School, College, Pros. It just seems more so now because of the mad contract amounts and social aspects, IMO.

I think it’s worse than it was 20 years ago. Seems like all the social media has made it just more in your face, I guess. The spotlight that today’s players live under is way too bright. Some of the guys seem to enjoy it, right up to the point they have an issue. Then they try to make excuses for their behavior, and try to blame it on the pedestal that they climbed onto themselves. I guess that’s why I like the guys in the trenches the most. They are a pretty humble bunch. Humility is the thing I notice less, but respect the most. The flashy guys with their Entourages drives me crazy. And it’s not about jealousy, it’s more about respect for the process. There are a lot of players that it just comes naturally, and there are the guys that earn every accolade. They have been busting their butts for 10 years, dreaming about the nfl. When they make it, they respect the opportunity and really do their best 24/7 to live up to the blessing they have been afforded. And others that think it’s all about them. Ok Bears guy, I’m off my soap box. And welcome to the forum!
