With about 11-12 weeks left bring in a mature consultant who can clean up errors taking place.

Having time to look at results from a few personnel moves. Simmons...he isn't good, but he isn't allowed to be the reason the Giants lose. Wilson he isn't good...he isn't allowed to be the focal point of the terrible Pats. Z Allen wasn't resigned and he is a good player and young yet they sign two scrubs who combined are more expensive than just keeping Allen.
Why is SMB allowed to be on the field with the terrible play and lack of disipline or not being technically sound?
Why are the defensive line not being helped with at least one extra blitzer most snaps? Why are the DL not prepared for QB cadence going into GB?
Why are there next to zero quick runs right down the gut with a large RB who isn't afraid of contact? Why is Carter not active?
Why are rookies not prepared to be playing in games?
Why are defenders facing the offense in zone not making better movement to where the ball is being distributed? and where are the big hits that occur when zone is being played? No punishment when allowed to look at the QB in zone coverage makes zone coverage fail.
The coaches protect the players and are not willing to call out bad play. It is a result based business. The players need to be held responsible to what they do on the field.
Cards are beating themselves and nobody on the staff is willing to help avoid it. They need to hire someone to come in and help resolve the very obvious errors.

This is not a crazy idea. My question would be is it more productive to bring in BB during the offseason for more time with coaching staff as a whole instead of preparing for game day mid-week…?

Lots of valid questions and points above.
The only player I am upset about leaving is Calais Campbell. What a loss. PPeterson and Mathieu and the others, no problem. Kirk was too expensive.
Lately, problems involve players and coaches, to a lesser or greater extent. Newer, less experienced in each case? Is there time yet for them to absorb what is wrong and learn how to correct problems? One wonders whether the Peter Principle might be involved, or alternatively, whether some are hired for too high a position, too soon.
Whether that also applies to our head coach is TBD, but he picked the others, right? That makes it his problem to resolve, and his head on the chopping block. Is a first time head coach more comfortable with new sub-coaches rather than experienced and older vets? Could be, and could be the focal point for what we see on Sundays.
Can MO exert pressure to promote at least improvement ?
Maybe this was discussed at hiring time, and it was decided that since a rebuild is in progress no great pressure to become competitive quickly would apply for another year or three? We. Don't. Know. And there is the Kyler contract that had bearing on things, too.
But sub-standard play is in plain sight, and it isn't pretty. Will it continue? Tune in next week for another episode of What Will the Cardinals Do Next !!

The only team the Arizona Cardinals thrashed in 2024 was the makeshift Los Angeles Rams defense. HC McVay had to suck it up that day. All other teams' HCs, including the San Francisco 49ers' brass, statistically beat the Cardinals.
What is going to happen in the future through January 2025? Teams with mature and seasoned head coaches will feast on the Cardinals. Next up on the schedule is the Los Angles Chargers. HC Harbaugh is a new head coach with a boneheaded team. The Cardinals might prevail next week; I said "might". Because the Cardinals team also plays boneheaded football.
We are six games into the second-year rebuild. That's the only excuse I can use to explain the inconsistency we see on the football field every week. I will add the QB Murray's issue if we want to include high-priced gimmicky players.

Brittain Golden on the post-game JV podcast said something interesting -- when the camera shows sideline shots there is NEVER one of the coaches for either the offensive or defensive unit huddled up and getting after the players. Heck, Belichick himself during games when it was called for to go over and undress a unit for not doing their jobs ... of course TB sometimes yelled at players to correct mistakes being made. I will admit that twice during the game I had to leave my TV and go do something else .. the first was the phantom "horse-caller" call which negated a fumble recovery around the GB 20 forcing the punt unit to replay and then to add further pain the returned returns the punt about 25 yds. The 2nd time which I then stopped watching the game altogether was after Jordan Love's "duck" throw to Dobbs which somehow SMB could not stop. How can a veteran corner knowing a blitz of 6 or more is coming at the QB that he needs to look for the ball at just under 2 seconds from the snap. Right now you could put the jersey number 20 on SMB and I'd think he was Marco Wilson. My brief comments are frustration right from the start as it appeared to me the players did not want to be there coming out with temps in the 40's and rain with some wind. Having grown up in Indiana, the worst weather to be outside in is a COLD rain, as I would rather have the temps being in the high 20's and snowing then wet, cold rain. - On the first pass to MHJ mis-communication had MHJ turning around on a button-hook route 7 yds down the field .. PROBLEM: It was 3rd and 9 so MHJ didn't even run the pattern to the sticks ? What the Heck ?
- Did the players have the wrong size of studs in their cleats because failing to down a punt on the GB 1 1/2 yd line because players are sliding into the end zone (maybe this could have stopped GB from scoring on their 2nd drive had the drive started with GB backed up on their own goal line) or a swing pass to JC and he slips as the ball is thrown which resulted in a punt on the 2nd or 3rd Cardinal drive of the game.
- KM1 must hit Xavier Weaver on that pass in the first half.
- 3 fumbles
- 15 penalties
- Michael Carter needs to play vs. Chargers

Maybe I expect too much. I thought some of the basics were on track. It bugs me the lack of direction in game given to players like Golden brought out. Lack of in game adjustments. Lack of players knowing what to do in the game. The fumbles and calls are going to happen from time to time. There seems to be some leadership errors happening. My thought was to bring in an older wiser consultant to help clean up the systemic issues.

BB probably wants no part of this mess. Thus a king’s ransom to rent a friend for 1 day a week consulting. To get an honest assessment.

But coaching is not the only problem. I would argue the front office is worse than our coaching. We need better talent. The last two drafts were underwhelming. We didn't really address the interior of the offensive and defensive line. We need a center, guards and two defensive tackles. We need players from good programs (SEC).

I really don’t think they will do any hiring of consultant. I am not sure if Monte can figure out how to assist in helping to steady the ship. If the team can’t get consistent results out of players on the roster, they have no business bringing more in to ruin. If the players were as bad as some think the play would be consistently bad. They can drive down and score on opening drives and the best at TDs in the red zone. Yet can’t move the chains on a regular basis. Players are not in sync with adjustments as per reads. The coaches can’t adjust in game to counter the opposition’s adjustments. The defense is consistent as per no pressure with a four man rush…yet they rarely blitz. They have issues stopping the run in nickel and play nickel at a high rate even on clear run downs. They can’t adjust to get a LB from covering a fast WR even when they surrender 3TDs to it in one game. They refuse to bench SMB who is obviously struggling. Rabbit is kept on the bench even though he plays well. I agree on lack of DT picks in last two drafts. The center and guards not as much. Hajalte finished 2023 strong and Will has been solid before injury combined zero sacks and good ratings and Brow had stabilized the LG swinging door from 2023. Colon as swing guard has been solid. When you get into 2nd and 3rd string players the quality will suffer. Hajalte is from the SEC and all three play well together…in 5 games they had 2 penalties combined and Evan had 2sacks given up. OL is suffering from injuries and the quality of depth has allowed the offense to function. The weapons and play selection is the issue on offense. The defense needs DL help, better personnel packages, better in game adjustments and there is a DB killing any success or hope of success. DB’s are not driving on throw attempts or being sound in zone alignment. The DL needs help with blitzing, but rare are the blitz calls. When run can’t be limited the chains move and the 3rd down plays are always short…this hard to defend. Add the penalties from GB game and there is no defensive resistance. Seems complex and is rather simple changes that are not being made. NFL FB is separated by the mental side…they are all solid athletes. The inconsistency is heavy mental breakdowns over quality of the players.

Disagree with this idea. I think for one it would send the wrong message to our coaches, especially where Gannon is concerned. And his own persona after years of a stellar coaching career took a nosedive after Brady left. Bringing in BB amounts in essence to a head coaching change which doesn't make sense at this stage. I think if you want to bring in somebody who'd be a shot in the arm to turn things around in short order, I'd like to see Robert Saleh brought in to take over this defense from what I'm seeing. Might even draw Reddick back, who knows.

I'd plant the guy in the booth and give him a pair of binoculars and a headset. Spy on everyone on the field. Find out who's not giving 100%, who's goofing off when they should be helping teammates, etc. Maybe everyone is giving 100% on the field and are fully engaged. That's a great thing for the consultant to know. Then the coaches get examined, and so on up the food chain, until the source of errors is found. We know the O/D/ST players are not All-Pro. Player mistakes happen. But not knowing the playbook, not knowing the snap count, and not studying every facet of the enemy is inexcusable behavior. I hound about organizational leadership development all the time during the off-season. Leadership is the hardest thing to teach. I know a thing or two about leadership...35 years in uniform, retired Navy 0-6.
