34 31 Bills rather it be the other way around but with our defense don't think so but hope they prove me wrong.

Looks like this discussion group is getting quite a bit more optimistic!
In the recently closed whole season prediction thread, only four folks thought that the Cards would notch a win against the Bills.
Now nine await the thrill of victory come the early Arizona afternoon, and only four anticipate the agony of defeat. . . . .

The Official result of the Round 1 prediction contest is as follows -
Joint 1st Place (Gold): Dry Heat and vwvectors (yes, it was a tie, they both predicted the exact same score) - 3.5 points each
3rd Place (Bronze): RedBirdfan62 - 2 points
4th Place: Respecttheprocess - 1 point
I can keep track of the accumulative points score week-on-week, which will then allow us to crown (the winner) as our SEASON'S CHAMPION TIPSTER (I will only do so if the membership desire it).
Lollypop's 'all round' for the four above..!

How does this work? Wasn't the score 34 Bills 28 Cards? Seems the person who predicted 34 Bills 31 Cards (accurately predicted the Bills score and was off by 3 for the Cards score) should be closer thanthan 24 Bills 17 Cards. Maybe I am not seeing the logic and I like to stir things up

Maybe I am not seeing the logic and I like to stir things up I considered this before the game and a question of 'swings and roundabouts'. The logic (in this instance) is that DH and VW predicted a seven point separation of the scoring when the actual difference was six. That was the deciding factor (see my earlier post on page 1). If the forum wishes to change the 'rules of engagement' then I am fine with that but (likely) there won't be universal agreement.

Okay, I've slept on it and can see the logic of what you say. Maybe I did get it wrong, so for Round 2 I'll change it around and see if people feel better about things. Anyway, I think just keep it 'fun', one game at a time, and not worry about carrying forward the scores etc.

Anyway, I think just keep it 'fun', one game at a time, and not worry about carrying forward the scores etc. I'm awake here on the U.S. east coast at Norfolk, VA. I got up at 5 am to watch the launch from Canaveral, FL. The 2nd stage rocket burn passed the east coast shorelines, heading NNE, and left a beautiful point of light and monster rocket engine flare glow in the night sky that was kilometers wide and long. You are not wrong or right, Devongent. I applaud that you are running this weekly contest. My 2 x cents input: I think the topmost component is picking the weekly winner (award member 3 points). The second component is the p oint differential (award member 2 points). The third component is total game points (award member 1 point). Thus, a member earning 6 award points probably wins the weekly betting pool and a cherry lollipop.
Example: I picked the opposition to win (BUF win = +3 points), and then I picked the 6 point difference (34-28 = +2 points), and then I picked total points scored (62 points = +1). Racking and stacking the members is relatively easy. The winner has the highest score (6 is max).

I retired from finance/accounting so I know there are several ways to paint a picture with numbers haha! What you are doing is a fun way to keep fans involved and I applaud you.

Devongent, I didn’t mean to stir things up. I truly wanted to know how it was determined. No worries at all Vesely, I'm open to ideas to improve things. - This is an interactive thread where its a case of 'more the merrier' taking part. I will cut away this thread later on today and launch the sequel for Round 2. - My intention is to use a different methodology (to determine the winner) this time and will document this in the OP. Stay tuned....
