Balance...hmm...
Wax On Wax Off...sound familiar?
Is our team more balanced this season than last season? I would say yes...first let's look at the team on these 5 players:
Zay Jones
Darius Robinson
Elijah Jones
B.J. Ojulari
Christian Jones
The two that will have the greatest impact as far as a loss will be Darius Robinson and B.J. Ojulari...Robinson will hopefully be back by week 5 or sooner...both of these players were probably going to be starters...
As far as the other 3, they were probably not going to be starters but back up players...more than likely Zay Jones, Elijah Jones and Christian Jones will be back at the latest by week 6 or sooner...except for Zay Jones...Unless our starters for these 3 positions get injured...we should not have a need for any of them...
B.J. Ojulari is the worst loss because he was going to start his second year and was projected to be our #1 Pass Rusher...but keep this in mind...last season even though he suited up for 17 games...he did not start any games. He was also ranked 16th in tackles last season of our defensive players...yes...it is a shame because we had high expectations from him this season...but keep this in mind...
We beat the Cowboys, Steelers and Eagles without B.J. being a starter on defense...if 3 of our 4 wins last season were against playoff teams...with an improved team on defense and offense this season...on that alone we should be able to win at least 2 more games than last season...
So much for the loss of those players for weeks or the whole season...

In the game against the Eagles...Greg Dortch was the #1 WR...with Trey McBride coming in second....well...because we have Marvin now...even if he is double covered...we still have Michael Wilson, Greg Dortch, Trey McBride that need to be covered while Marvin is on the field...in the Eagles game last season, I would say that their #1 and #2 CB's or Safeties were covering Dortch and McBride...if a team like the Eagles this season tries to double cover Marvin...who is going to cover Dortch and McBride? Their #2, #3 or #4 Secondary players? Marvin is going to provide us with more than receptions this season...he is going to force the best CB to cover him or best two best CB's of our opponents to cover him leaving the #3 or #4 Secondary to cover Dortch and McBride...
Now, there are two things that could surprise us with our WR Corp...Michael Wilson and Xavier Weaver...
Let's start with Weaver...he is a Rookie...but yet he looked good in Pre Season...so you are thinking that he was playing against #2, #3 or #4 Secondary Players...had Ridder or Tune played against starters of our opponents...Weaver may not have looked so good...but then again...Murray is tenfold better than Ridder or Tune...I think that Weaver will do very good with Murray at QB...don't forget that if Murray is going to throw the ball to Weaver...that means that the best Secondary players are going to be covering Marvin, McBride, Dortch and/or Wilson...that translates into Weaver will be covered by our opponents #3 or #4 Secondary players...weren't those kind of players covering Weaver in Pre Season? The big difference is that Ridder or Tune will not be throwing against those #3 or #4 Secondary players...it will be Murray...
Now let's look at Michael Wilson...first let's start by pointing out that Wilson was a Rookie last season. Dobbs was his QB for 9 games...hmm...and he started 12 of 13 games...so he missed 4 games to injury...now add to that we had a brand new coaching staff...our Offensive Coordinator was a Rookie for the position as well...and need I say our Head Coach that is a Defensive minded Coach...was also a Rookie as a Head Coach...can I throw anymore on top of this...yes...Wilson was drafted in the 3rd round...not in the first round or even second round...not like Rondale Moore who was taken in the second round when he was drafted...Wilson totally outperformed Moore in their first seasons. But now with one season of experience, the coaching staff with one more year of experience and with Murray projected to play the whole season...we might see a Michael Wilson that totally exceeds the play of Michael Wilson last season...
I am still trying to figure out the Pascal signing to the 53 man roster...anyways...my point? I believe that our WR Corp will have balance this coming season...
I have not mentioned Trey McBride...well we know that he was our best receiving player last season...even though he did not start the whole season...because Ertz was the starter to begin the season...McBride did very good last season considering Dobbs played 9 games and we had a new coaching staff and playbook from when he was drafted in 2022...
Our WR/TE Receiving Corp will be the dominant portion of our team...we have balance...
I won't get into our defense on this post...but just with the additions and the removal of Antonio Hamilton and Marco Wilson...our secondary should be much improved...

Do we have a chance to win the our first game against the Bills? I think so...just on this reason alone...no more Stefon Diggs...
Allen has been very good since his second season with the Bills...Stefon Diggs was his main staple during his past 5 seasons...we will find out if Allen is still as good a QB without Diggs as he was with Diggs on the team...remember what happened when we lost DeAndre Hopkins...we did not have a true WR anymore...did that contribute to to our 4 win season last year...when DeAndre was suspended for 6 weeks in 2022, did that contribute to our 4 win season that year? Though DeAndre started 9 games in 2022, he was still our best WR. Though...Hollywood was right up there with Hopkins in stats...did Hollywood not do so good last season because we did not have a DeAndre to draw the attention of the best CB or our opponents? My point is that without Diggs, Josh Allen may not be as good with his current WR Corp...or...maybe it won't make a difference...
To sum up what I said...it is pretty simple...we should have plenty of BALANCE on offense...and perhaps will almost be BALANCED if we have a good pass rush...otherwise...we will have to wait till the next draft to find a completely BALANCED team on both offense and defense....
