Neil Lomax was the best QB of the bunch Yes he never won But the guy us 2ND on the LIST Played a very short time. He played on very poor teams LOKK WHERE HE IS AT 2ND ALL TIME I met Warner and love the guy. But he had weapons Lomax was underrated Lomax didn't have weapons? He had Roy Green, Pat Tilley, JT Smith, Ernie Jones, Robert Awalt, Jay Novacek, OJ Anderson, Stump Mitchell. Hell, Lomax had more weapons than Warner had.

I wasn't born yet but I heard great things about Ottis Anderson. Longtime Canes fan said that he was the best running back.

Ottis Anderson and Terry Metcalf were the two rookies I witnessed that came in as a rookie and had big impact. I great thing to see when one of your freshly drafted players quickly makes you a much better team.

That '84 team showed they could hang with the best of them but lost some strange games to keep them out of the playoffs. The opening game with O'Donamiss missing an extra point and losing 24-23, losing to a mediocre Saints team, a 3 game losing streak where they lost all 3 games by a combined 16 points. Then there's the final game where instead of moving closer(they had ample time to run a sideline play to either gain more yards or at least stop the clock), they rushed the kicking team out for a long FG. Had that team made the playoffs, they might have been the only team that could have hung with the 49ers. After all they did go toe to toe with the Dolphins that year.

Murray finished with 3722 yds for the season, 8th best all-time single season passing yards.

Kyler's climb continues to progress, getting into the top 6 will be more of a challenge.
Good luck kid.

Kyler's climb continues to progress, getting into the top 6 will be more of a challenge. Good luck kid. To me, the most interesting thing is that after 28 regular season games, Kyler Murray is already a Cardinals Top 8 QB just based on passing yards. I don't know if that's good or sad news. Good news for KM's success in <2yrs work. Sad news about the Cardinals QB draft history.

Taken from his wiki page
"After not being drafted in the 1966 NFL Draft, Hart's former coach Don Shroyer invited him to a tryout with the Cardinals. He impressed the team and was signed soon after."I'm not going to say Jim Hart was the best ever....he had his faults. But you can't deny his longevity ( 18 years ) and when he got hot, he was as good as anyone. He is one of my all-time Cardinal favorites, but not just because of his stats. I believe he was a genuine good guy. For those who lived in and around St Louis back then, perhaps you remember the Hart and Dierdorf show on KMOX on Monday nights. I don't think I missed a single show back then. Dan was more articulate, but Jim spoke from the heart....no pun intended....lol. Those were good days....partly because I was young but also I got hear from two of my favorite players every week.

Those were good days....partly because I was young but also I got hear from two of my favorite players every week. Jim Hart's SIU Saluki's football team won just 9 games from 1963-65. Hart was very lucky that Shroyer invited him to a FA tryout in 1966. No one else would give Jim Hart the time of day. I also had completely forgotten that Jim Hart signed with the Redskins for 1 year prior to retiring. He did well wherever he went both on and off the field. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1965_Southern_Illinois_Salukis_football_teamKMOX AM radio, wow that brings back memories. After college, I moved away from the Midwest. On some nights, depending on weather conditions, I could pick up the AM radio signal from more than a thousand miles away and listen to the news back home and STL teams live action. Another opinion that I developed over many years....the Bidwills seemed attracted to Midwest-based football talent. Maybe because the scouts read mostly local newspapers and scouted mostly Midwest college programs. That also explains why Jim Hart went unnoticed at SIU, a smaller university football program.
