From an article by Darren Urban: Players and staff alike have talked about the type of stress caused by this time of year. But it's also the time that allows Gannon and GM Monti Ossenfort to finalize a roster that they believe can win them games When I get home tonight I will look this up. I “With roster deadline looming….blah blah blah…”

The entire preseason game performances from the Cards were bad to ugly. No matter who the starters are the product fielded by the Cards was an embarrassment. The staff may have been giving the lower end of the roster playing time, too many of them didn't look like NFL-level players starting with the backup QBs.Let's slow down here a little bit...
Zach Wilson shredded our defense...he may be the 3rd string QB on the Broncos...however...
We can't forget that he was drafted with the overall 2nd pick in the 2021 NFL Draft... He also has had 33 NFL game starts as the primary QB...
We scored only 12 points...so...yes our backup QB's did not look like NFL level players...
When our opponent scores 38 points...it looks a lot worse that it really is...
I would say that the Ugly was not Tune, but our defense...
Our defense allowed drives of: 55 yards 87 yards 47 yards 64 yards 50 yards
Wilson had 2 passing TD's and one Rushing TD... The 94 yard pick six...which yes was Tune's fault...or...did you think about this...did the WR run the wrong route or run the correct route but executed it incorrectly? Other than Wilson's Rushing TD...there was only one other Rushing TD in the game...
Yes, it was a horrendous game...but...it was not as bad as it looks when you take into consideration what I mentioned above...
Oh my...I really wanted us to win this game against Sean Payton...
I just have a feeling that J.G. was keeping our starters out because he does not want to clue in any of our opponents...
As bad as I feel about the loss...it still was a preseason game...but our defense was the ugly of the game...not so much Tune...

I do not care about How Wilson played or the 9 out of 10 defenders the Cards had play. These are not potential roster players. The #2 QB is an actual roster spot of need. Flip your analysis...What did either Tune or Ridder do against slower 3rd and 4th string pass rushers and bad DBs? Both of them held on to the ball...neither would throw the ball even into coverage with accuracy. They couldn't throw 50/50 balls and give the receivers a chance. Tune would rarely out run a DT. Limited athleticism and poor passing skills...not a good combo. As time has gone on the Brown's game has proven...to not be a fluke, but the reality Tune is not ready for the NFL currently. Ridder proved he is as bad as the Falcon's concluded. As you stated even Wilson, who is bad showed skill and ability. Was it Wilson scoring 2 TDs to Tune's and Ridders 1 TD...nope...only one QB in the game showed any QB skill. Wilson is at best a 3rd string QB and the Card backups played well below 3rd string QBs.

Did Denver not play 2nd string players through the whole game?
As time has gone on the Brown's game has proven...to not be a fluke, but the reality Tune is not ready for the NFL currently First of all...that was Tune's first start as a Rookie...hmm...you do realize that the Browns had the lowest completion percentage in the NFL? They only allowed a 57.4 completion percentage to their opponents...take a look at the teams the Browns played against last season...they were pretty good teams:
No wonder they shredded Tune...a rookie who was on a team that the previous year only won 4 games too...did our offensive players improve that much from 2022 to 2023? We still ended up with 4 wins in 2023 with Murray and Dobbs at the helm...
If you are basing Tune's qualifications on that one game...that was then not now...am I saying he is a good QB? No, I am not...but I will not either say he is as bad as you are making him out to be...I just can't agree with you on that...
Was it Wilson scoring 2 TDs to Tune's and Ridders 1 TD
Tune or Ridder did not score a Passing or Rushing TD in the game...
Wilson is at best a 3rd string QB Bo Nix was named the starter...in the preseason game...Stidham has not done anything in Pre Season...I won't list his Pre Season stats...but they are bad...Wilson has outperformed him...don't be surprised if Wilson becomes the backup to Nix...if that happens...then I guess Sean Payton does not consider him to be at best a 3rd string QB...
But regardless of what I have posted...yes Tune and Ridder have not played well during Pre Season...

You have made good points...all players in this game we discussed are not NFL roster worthy.

I do believe that Ridder is not NFL worthy...but I will wait to see on the others we discussed...should Denver put Wilson on the Practice Squad...I would like it if we picked him off of there and have him as our #QB...I just don't see Sean Payton doing that because Wilson was better than Stidham in Pre Season...

Wilson did look a hell of a lot sharper than Tune and Ridder. If SP take a pill, maybe Wilson goes to the PS. Then, perhaps, MO can snag him for zip cost.

Sad thing is a QB that shines in PS games they rarely can play well in a regular season game. Cards do not want Wilson...he is terrible. It was compelling evidence of how bad the current QBs behind K1 are. It is time for better QB depth. OLB will also have upgrades this week.

If Zach Wilson is so bad, then who out there is better? Where do the Cards go for better QBs? MOnti & JG drafted Tune iirc. Ridder was traded for. So where Do we Find better replacements at this stage of the season?
