It is my honest opinion that this year's Cardinal team can actually compete for a super bowl if the offensive line can keep the little dude healthy. There's no reason not to expect that Marvin Harrison is not going to be very good if not great as a rookie. There's no reason not to expect them and bride is not going to continue to improve. The Cardinals appear to be one of the few teams in the league they'll have both the ability to grind out games with Connor and Vincent and whomever else and also should have the ability to play from behind. One thing that I haven't seen a lot mentioned about is special team. While the kickoff and kickoff return will take some time for teams to sort out what to do but it's clear that our return game is going to be much improved this year. Particularly if Dallas makes the roster. Defensively even with the loss of number 18 in my humble opinion I think the defense is a little better in all areas except for pass rush. I do think the Cardinals can sign a kicker to the practice score. After all mad as 40 years old. I saw a week or so ago that the kicker from the zoo had been cut by the Panthers and I don't know if he's been picked up by any other team. I watched every kick he made with Mizzou and I would like to see him on the practice squad.

JFC, I always enjoy your frank assessments of Murray. I'm not his biggest fan; everyone knows that at this Forum.
Since Murray has decided to sit out 3 PS games for August 2024, I assess that his game has not improved since January 2024, when he last played. I am right until he plays again and changes the statistics and team Won and Loss record. Murray will play his first game snap of the 2024 season on September 8, 2024. That's when we will learn if he has changed. Today, I doubt he has changed as a professional. He's older. That's all we know for certain.
The team has changed substantially—at least, the roster names have changed. But what really needs to change for this team is for the Offense to score more points and the Defense to yield fewer points since last January's final game. The 2023 points averages sucked, causing a 4-win season. The team was 1-2 plays away from a 2-win season!
Go Cardinals!

Myself, I am willing to forgive K1 in a large way for all his inconsistencies if he can finish a year without missing games. I am much more positive about the defense as well. 2024 isn't 2023 and that is a plus. Like Hjalte...many players are trending in the right direction. I refuse to poo poo the players or the team and rather give them the benefit of the doubt. I do not have to protect myself from a possible fall and would rather give the players and team the respect of an undefeated team until the regular season proves otherwise. I like when I voiced some concerns on the pre-season and some stepped up with positive spins. My concerns were legitimate in my view, but there is also benefits in giving the HC and team the benefit of the doubt. I am a homer I am a fanatic and I am partial as well as wear the rose colored glasses. I am secure in my fandom of the Cards and unlike many fans across the country do not require the team I cheer for to win...I have witnessed a ton of garbage and will still sport the Cards gear in the worse of times. Card fans are a bit not right in the head and I love that.

The BOLD bit is harsh on Murray, the decision was taken by the coaching staff and I'm sure Murray would have liked a piece of the action in the pre-season games. I still think it was the right decision to sit him (together with the other main players). New season, fresh start and a clean slate. Let's see what unfolds EZ, I am optimistic for the season ahead and Murray has certainly put in a ton of work to get back from his serious injury to this point. All the negative vibes and baggage from the past (always on his game console etc.) appears to have evaporated away like a block of ice in the desert. Collectively the fan base needs to take a deep breath, pour out a glass of your favorite tipple, sit back and get ready to enjoy...

Last time the Cards had a talented 6'4" receiver = KM1 was in the MVP talk thru approx. 9 games of 2 seasons. Remember the Cards were flying high until the infamous "AJ Green please turnaround" game but recall KM1 hurt his ankle on last offensive play of the game. The season went south from there between Kyler's hampered mobility and opposing teams' DC's figuring out DHop only ran about 3 different routes all on the left side of the formation.
Other than Dortch, Monti has drafted or brought in taller receivers with talent. In fact I look for Elijah Higgins to be a WR in the RED ZONE (6'5" vs. 5'10" safeties) taking some of the snaps which would have gone to Zay Jones.

Thanks for the objective and positive discussion about our team and Forum support! We have enough thinkers and doers at the Forum to make it one season to remember.

I was reading the NFL preseason game 3 summaries from Friday night.
SF 49ers QB Brock Purdy played three series in the game against the LV Raiders. The game ended in a 24-24 tie. The team's offenses scored 48 points!
When did the Cardinals last score 24 points in a PS game? I have no idea.
Wanna guess which QB (Purdy or Murray) is more ready for game 1 in two weeks? Purdy gets my vote.

Purdy is a good QB on one of the best rosters in the NFL. Shanahan is a QB killer IMO. Even with a great roster Kyle can not win the big game...second best is the first loser. It is a long season. Purdy and Kyle benefit from a great FO. The Niner's have their own issues going into 2024.

I think we'll find out this year if it was KK or was it the Little Dude's attitude...

Here is how I was ranking our current WR Corp
1. MHJ 2. Michael Wilson 3. Greg Dortch/Zay Jones
4. Zay Jones/Greg Dortch 5. Weaver/Palmer (one of those two becoming our #5 WR and the other going to the Practice Squad)
6. Palmer/Weaver(if we keep 6 WR's) 7. If we keep 6 WR's...then one of the other WR's on the roster go to the Practice Squad like Chisena...I actually thought that he might even surpass Weaver and Palmer.
I am assuming that Zay Jones will not count against the 53 man roster...am I correct on this?
I wonder what kind of ties J.G. has with Pascal...because he is one player that I think should have not been brought back this season...

There is one Moore you forgot 1. MHJ 2. Wilson 3. Dortch 4. Moore 5. Weaver..his return ability is key 6. Chisena I am not a Pascal fan and Palmer needs time to develop on the PS. Jones with the suspension is out for now. I could envision Pascal knocking Chisena off the roster if the coaches value him more. Moore can take the top off the defense and may be why the Colts played cloud to limit the deep ball.

Watching FSU and GT in Dublin...a reminder of what good FB looks like..although it is college. The players face similar-level competition without a preseason.

I didn't forget Moore...he is a 9 year veteran...Zay Jones is an 8 year veteran...
They brought in Zay after Moore was already on the roster...did they do that because of what they saw of Moore in training camp or practice? I understand the need for a veteran WR to help the younger players...
I just question Moore because of Zay being brought in after him...
Compare their career stats:
I especially question Moore's stats because he was with the Ravens for 5 seasons...3 of those seasons the QB was Lamar Jackson...
So, the question is this...Jackson did run the ball a lot...and that did take away targets from the WR's...also he was with Houston in 2021 and 2022...in 2022 the QB was Davis Mills a bottom of the barrel NFL QB...and in 2021 his QB was Davis Mills for 11 games and Tyrod Taylor for 6 games...and in 2023 his QB's were Ryan Tannehill for 8 games and Will Levis a Rookie...for 9 games...perhaps you see something in Chris Moore that I can't see...I will give him the benefit of the doubt because of the QB's he played with most of his career...they sucked...ha ha ha
I would rather just have us try to develop either Palmer or Weaver and see what they can get out of them...I had read on NFL.com that Weaver might be a player that might make the 53 man roster...but they also mentioned that they drafted Palmer for a reason...
let me see if I can find the article...I could not find the article that mentioned that Palmer has the edge over Weaver because he was actually drafted and Weaver wasn't...I will keep looking for the article and if I find it...I will post the link...

I smell what you are cooking Flash...however Moore is much more important with the suspension news. Moore did play a bit in preseason games and looked good. He is a reliable vet the Cards made a good move getting him.
If players need developing ...they are not NFL ready and PS bait. JG did say it has not been too big for Weaver so far(a good sign). Moore isn't as good as Zay and now we know why the Jags moved on a long with injuries to Zay. I was surprised he was signed at a small contract and as the information is revealed it makes more sense.
Palmer is not ready and Weaver is a small build player who may need more physical development.
