Surprised it is a 5 game suspension on a case which appears to have been dropped quickly -- I would like to know if the woman needed any medical care treatment at a local hospital when you compare the Chiefs Rashee Rice issues below - Rashee Rice's problems -1) March 30 - driving a vehicle 119 MPH CAUSED a multi vehicle accident. He has been charged with EIGHT FELONY Counts as incident I believe cause 3 people to get hurt enough to need medical care at local hospital 2) Early May so within 35 days of the above - Assault charged against him for sucker-punching a photographer at a bar in Dallas 3) Has been found out while at SMU - Rice FIRED (Discharged Multiple Bullets) a Gun into the empty car of a man (sending him a message which can be assault) who Rice thought had been with his girlfriend. In many jurisdictions including AZ, this could warrant even an aggravated assault charge. FWIW: A.R.S. section 13-1203 penalizes a number of circumstances that count as aggravated assault. One of these is committing an assault with a deadly weapon (or dangerous instrument) to intentionally put someone in imminent fear of serious physical injuries. My question is why wasn't Rice suspended his rookie year for 5 games for discharging a weapon multiple times to intimidate someone ? Based on the 8 FELONY charges when he has admitted to driving the car in question, why is he even able to practice ? Based on the NFL being afraid to not piss of the new "Swiftie" viewers, Rice should be a 3-time offender of the conduct policy and should be suspended for a year after serving any prison time but I fear it will only be 6 games.

I really like Chisena. Jones, pasco, and more haven't done much in their career and I like to see the kid get a shot.

Well now with this news...we are down 3 players that we thought would contribute considerably this season...
1. Zay Jones...I was expecting him to be our #2 or #3 WR...I just had a gut feeling that with Murray throwing to him...he would be good enough to become our #2 or #3 WR...and even if he ended up becoming our #4 WR...that would have been excellent depth at the WR Corp...now we are going to have to count on either Palmer or Weaver to step up and take the place of Zay...maybe Weaver is a sleeper...he was the best WR that Deion Sanders had at Colorado...could he be good enough to become our #4 or #3 WR? Or what about Palmer? He did not have a great Pre Season...however...on several of the targets to him, the defender that was covering him...should have been penalized...afterall...Palmer was drafted and Weaver wasn't...I thought Palmer did good enough to be our #4 WR...I guess both of those guys will make the 53 man roster if we have 6 WR's like last season...otherwise...one will make the 53 man roster and the other will be put on the Practice Squad...
2. Darius Robinson...we still don't know how serious his injury is...but if he was being carted off the field...that is not good...if we do lose him for several weeks or more...this is one player that we were counting on to fill the void of our pass rush...
3. B.J. Ojulari...we were expecting him to become our #1 Pass Rusher this season...but he is gone for the entire season...we were hoping that he and Robinson were going to bolster our Pass Rush...but now...both are gone...one for the whole season...and the other we are still waiting to find that out...
What if it takes Robinson 4 weeks to return to full strength? Or what if it takes longer? We better hope that our CB Corp has improved immensely...we will have to count on Bunting, Williams, Melton and Clark to contain the opposing QB's that will more than likely have time in the pocket to throw the ball because of Robinson and Ojulari not playing...this is not a good start to our defense....and I was really counting of Zay to become a heavy contributor to the pass game...
All I can say is that I hope that either Weaver or Palmer really step up...one or both of these guys need to become a Steve Breaston while Zay Jones is out for 5 weeks...

We don’t use them in pre-season games but they get hurt in practice or get dinged by Roger the sheriff.

UGH - Zay Jones suspended for 5 Games by NFLPlease note the Chiefs Rashee Rice has still not been suspended !!! I saw this clown playing last Saturday v. Detroit and thought, How does a dip-sh_t like this cause a six car pile up on a Connecticut interstate leading to multiple injuries along with being charged with EIGHT FELONY COUNTS of reckless driving, endangerment play in any game pending investigation? Pathetic! F-YOU Andy Reid for not addressing this in your organization and F-YOU Roger Goodell for not taking League action against this bozo!

First poor judgment signing by Ossenfort and Sears. There were better options out there if you were willing to spend the cap money which you now have in abundance. I wrote on another thread that I thought this was a Bidwill urged signing.

UGH - Zay Jones suspended for 5 Games by NFLPlease note the Chiefs Rashee Rice has still not been suspended !!! Zay Jones should appeal the Commissioner's ruling. 5 games is absurd for this case. 1 game is also overkill in my view. Sorry about using 'overkill' in a DV arrest. I hope that no one was injured. Feelings are always hurt on all sides. Did Jones and his former partner have a physical confrontation and did the police respond? Yes and Yes. People argue and yelling turns into pushing and grabbing. It is not right when someone gets hurt physically or someone attacks a partner with the intent to injure. Wrong, wrong, wrong! In this era of instant media judgment, the some police departments are required to make an arrest when a domestic argument occurs. It is rare that a female is arrested and suspended from pro sports employment. Why do only male sports figures have to pay a huge fine comparable to 30-40% of annual income! The fines are too much. I hope the Jones suspension is reduced and maybe set aside entirely. The Cardinals need all the help they can get to be successful.

I have a difficult time accepting the league’s hard line stance on this. Granted the optics look bad BUT the state dropped the charges as the case was weak & conviction unlikely. And since Jones is innocent in the eyes of the law he’s guilty in the eyes of the league. I think the league needs reinstate the mantra of innocent till proven guilty. If a player is found guilty then drop the hammer on them.

First, I didn't even know about this. I guess I missed it when we acquired him. I don't want to get into what's fair or not.....stiil and this is all I know about it, is what has been said in this thread.
Without knowing all the facts, it does seem like he is not being treated the same as others.
Beyond that, this is what I really wanted to say.
Unlike when we lost B.J. Ojulari and Darius Robinson ( that hurt big time ), I think we will be just fine. Maybe I'm overly hopeful, but I think our receiver room is one of our strongest category's. If we had to go a man down, the receiving core is the one I would choose.

There's no place for million dollar NFL athletes to smack their baby mommas/wife around. It's DOMESTIC VIOLENCE no matter your tax bracket or celebrity status. So sick of pro athletes getting a pass. The perp's expensive law team will convince the battered spouse to drop the charges and settle out of court while the douche bag athlete continues on his merry way to riches. True story brethren!

There are still options within the current group and decisions to be made about who makes the 53-roster. - Weaver has good punt returner potential, hence (you would think) has an head start, but there again the FO drafted Palmer for a reason, and maybe that was with an eye on the longer term. It will be fascinating to see what happens with the WR Corps, and then don't discount the possibility of recruiting another one.

There's no place for million dollar NFL athletes to smack their baby mommas/wife around. It's DOMESTIC VIOLENCE no matter your tax bracket or celebrity status. You make a valid point BigRed; the NFL authorities have a moral responsibility in all of this and to protect the image of the game at large. If the general public believe the sport is condoning acts of DV, then that is real bad and will have negative consequences for the future. Football is a hard and brutal game and no-one will think that the main participants (professional players) are likely to be angelic. To survive and prosper in the NFL, then you need a edge to your personality and have a competitive (often self-centered) nature. - I don't know the detail of this particular case or how it compares with other ones from the past but you can only hope and trust that Zay Jones has been treated fairly. I have some sympathy with the authorities, sometimes you are dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. Ultimately, Jones will need to take his medicine and come back strong and fired up. In the meanwhile, 'Opportunity Knocks' for someone else...
