He got better throughout 2023 and was the 2nd or 3rd highest rated center by PFF over the last six games of 2023. He is someone that I posted months ago could get an extension in 2024. Kyzir White and OG Hernandez could also see extensions this year if solid play continues in 2024. |

He got better throughout 2023 and was the 2nd or 3rd highest rated center by PFF over the last six games of 2023. He is someone that I posted months ago could get an extension in 2024. Kyzir White and OG Hernandez could also see extensions this year if solid play continues in 2024. For his play, size, speed, strength and age this was an exceptional value extension. A couple years ago Chargers signed the C Cards were targeting and he was older and signed a 5 year $63M contract. A two year extension for about the average of one year of top C’s pay seems reasonable. |

I was glad to see this signing. I'm sure Murray is happy with it as well. The QB and C seem to be on the same page most plays when they played together in '23, if that makes sense!

From the press conference. One of the best lines from Hjalte. The Card OL is: The OL is competent. No egos as per no one knows it all or is not willing to be part of the growth of the others. JG called him a meathead...not like Archy Bunker would, but rather in appreciation of... he has a simple approach to find joy. Hjalte loves violence and doesn't mind getting run over from behind by one of his own RBs if they get a first down. He also loves pulling and getting to hit DBs.
