To be honest...way more bad and ugly.
The good...Benson and the second string DBs. I liked Melton, Clark and Rabbit as well as the turnovers they created. Although he had marginal results in finishing sacks...Cam Thomas made needed progression...he affected plays from the 5 and 7 tech. DT Murphy had a good day.
The Bad...Interior run defense and the occasional loss of containment. All second half defense. OLB Smith's play.
The ugly...Jones's penalties and the refs. Dimukeje's ability to tackle or finish a sack. Interior run defense...Collier was pushed around without being double teamed...C'mon Man. Ridder's play.
Overall it was an ugly performance in Indy. There are many mid to possible back end roster players who need to play better and more consistent. The ref crew was horrible as well.

I really did like seeing Benson have a bounce back game from the Saints game. He looked more decisive when running. He should help Conner get some rest during the game. Defensively, this team has problems. They do not have a legitimate pass rush, even with a healthy BJ. The secondary may have improved, but still a lot to ask for a secondary to stay on their man with a QB allowed to sit in the pocket and go through his progressions. I will say though, the dline was getting pressure on the QB, the problem was tackling. A lot of miss tackles and break down of containment. There are definitely holes still on both sides of the ball. Fans are expecting too much too soon, its still only the beginning of the 2nd year of a rebuild. We just need to give it time.

QB Clayton Tune is making good progress in 2024, which is exactly what the coaches expect. His 2024 v 2023 numbers are a small sample size for a handful of games. I have no idea what he's doing at TC to convince the coaches that he's earned a 53-man roster spot. If QB Ridder was in the #2 spot in the offseason, I think QB Tune has done enough already to push QB Ridder into the Practice Squad discussion. It will be interesting to see if the Cardinals try to protect Ridder later this month or let him ride off into the sunset. I like QB Tune's passing completion improvements most, from 57% to 67%. He's got 1 more game to impress people.
Tune's 2024 v. 2023 Passing Stats (Preseason only)

Some good, imo, with the rush of Xavier Williams at least early on. Is his rookie progress keeping Monti/Bidwill from signing a known commodity @ edge rusher? I'm not criticizing yet. I just don't want to hear from any media source that Michael Bidwill is meddling in roster decisions.
