www.espn.com/nfl/game/_/gameId/401437653/chiefs-cardinalsI expected no entertainment value at the 2023 season opener and was not surprised. I expected some entertainment value at the 2022 season opener and was shocked at how easily the Kansas City Chiefs slapped around the Arizona Cardinals. Mahomes scored 5 TDs. The ESPN writer captured Andy Reid's surprise as well. When asked, Reid was dumbfounded how easy it was to score and defeat another NFL team at game 1. At least Andy was a professional. I can't say that about Kliff Kingsbury, a carbon copy of the mayor of South Park. media.giphy.com/media/l0HlxHO3FLMpIsFFK/giphy.gif

This meant it was the first real game speed and hitting these guys had experienced since early January, 2022. And it was September. I’ve laid out that I think it is a mistake to sit all our starters all pre-season. I hope I’m wrong and we start off with a W.

I would have preferred some preseason snaps. Will it really make a difference, I don't know. Apparently, JG thinks it will not. To be fair, we had no major injuries of starters in pre-season. Thats a good thing....but and it might be a big but, will that hurt us in the first game or two for the reasons you mention. All I can say, I'm going to defer to JG's judgement until he gives me a reason not to.

Unfortunately they're going to beat the piss out of us. The great thing about football or any sport really is that you don't know until you do know. Will we get the crap kick out of us....maybe, but I think it's just as likely we give them a good game. A win may be a little too much to ask for.....but if the stars line up just right.....who knows. All I know is I'm looking forward to the game. It may be good, bad or even ugly, but I will be ready with my lucky shirt, socks or any other lucky charm. I hope so. I'm sorry to be pessimistic but I don't see much happening this year. We need a rebirth of Murray or I don't see a lot of wins.

Matt Milano's injury really hurts the Bills as he is their Kyzir White as the defensive coach on the field making sure everyone is in the correct position. New safeties, New DC ... can you say increase in blown assignments for Bills defense. The fact of the Cardinals getting Buffalo for their first game is a very good thing ... decent weather and a defense who has not taken any snaps with their new defense and inexperience personnel having the green dot. It was brought to my attention the Bills had 8 team captains in 2023 and only TWO (2) of them remain ... also loss of Milano is a big plus for the Cards. The key is the new FA acquisitions and upgrades on DL to stop the run, must in fact do that because OC Brady's offense is built off run game. I believe the Cards "secret weapon" is Mack Wilson who has played many games vs. Josh Allen/Bills so I envision him having lots of tackles, in some packages guarding one of their TE's on passing routes and I think he will come off the edge a few times. When Cards get pressure on Allen and get their hands on him, they must bring him down and not let him shake them off and go for a big run or pass. Earlier in the week, the weather forecasted rain for Sunday but it looks like now that will blow through Buffalo on Sat night with partly cloudy skies and 62 degrees at game time. It will be a bit windy though with winds in the mid to high teens.

Of course no starters were injured during pre-season games, because you don’t get injured wearing designer sweatpants on the sideline. Maybe we should stop having the starters practice as well, since that’s where the big starter injuries seem to be hitting us. I hope we crush the Bills, but I am firmly against this soft, precautionary trend in the NFL to bubble wrap starters from January till September.
