I caught this today -- Matt Milano was injured for the Bills and they are already very thin at LB though we'll see how serious it is. However Milano is oft-injured but usually waits until sometime during the 1st half of regular seasons to get hurt. Also WR Chase Claypool who (see link below) was reportedly having a good camp will probably have to get an injury settlement from the Bills. However the funniest thing was listening to this Bills podcast and you'll never guess who their "savior" is in the WR room (go to 8:45 on link below) ---- none other than glowing about ANDY ISABELLA !!!! Almost fell out of my chair laughing ! Bills WR room is now hoping a former Cardinal upgrades their WR room ? |

Sad when a practice squad player is the bright spot in the WR room. I love pulling for the underdog. Isabella isn't a talented player undiscovered, he had opportunity for years and didn't make the cut. He has skill and is still a PS player even with the positive camp. I am happy he is doing good and reaching his potential...his potential unfortunately for him is high level PS and just below active roster status.
Bills are fortunate to be in the AFC East...Pats, Jets and Dolphins. It is currently set up for the Dolphins to have a chance for the top position and they suffered some big losses like the Bills in players. The Bills have Allen and a solid OL a good core. Is this enough? TBD
The Bills have grit and they are a blue collar team. The 2024 season for the Bills can go one of two ways fast.

Matt Milano's injury really hurts the Bills as he is their Kyzir White as the defensive coach on the field making sure everyone is in the correct position. New safeties, New DC ... can you say increase in blown assignments for Bills defense. The fact of the Cardinals getting Buffalo for their first game is a very good thing ... decent weather and a defense who has not taken any snaps with their new defense and inexperience personnel having the green dot.

Maybe we should take down the thread after seeing the Cards OL backups last night. Emergence of Xavier Thomas fills me with hope on defense but the backups including 2024 draft picks at OL are giving me pause for success in the season as injuries are inevitable. Anyway ... maybe I am too focused on what the Bills are doing (including the fact Keon Coleman dropped a TD pass last night) -- maybe karma is a bi**h so I will not care if thread is taken down. |

Good teams just tend to win despite injuries.
I'm sure Buffalo will be fine.
I'll still take the Cards though just because they tend to start strong when they have something to prove.

I am double downing on this thread despite the negative news this week. It is all about K1. There is enough improvement on the defense.
Bills are good. Their OL is solid. Torrence and Brown are two of my personal favorites. They have a good RB and a big QB. The WR has questions as well as the defense is suspect.

The Bills rank high in preseason NFL power rankings as of Aug 14, 2024. Since that ranking, I haven't seen the team move. Today is August 27. Roster cuts are happening now across all 32 teams.
According to a survey of preseason power rankings, this year's scaled-back version of the Buffalo Bills isn't scaring away NFL analysts, with the team predicted to be among the top 10 teams in the league.
The Cardinals, on the other hand, still rank 29th. They also haven't moved. Ha! What do NFL analysts know anyway?

Unfortunately they're going to beat the piss out of us. The great thing about football or any sport really is that you don't know until you do know. Will we get the crap kick out of us....maybe, but I think it's just as likely we give them a good game. A win may be a little too much to ask for.....but if the stars line up just right.....who knows. All I know is I'm looking forward to the game. It may be good, bad or even ugly, but I will be ready with my lucky shirt, socks or any other lucky charm.  |
