D NT Lopez is a hardworking guy. His grades following the NO@AZ game topped the D chart, which should not surprise any Texans and Cardinals fans. The Cardinals DC believed in Lopez in 2023, allowing him to improve in the offseason and prove his worth in 2024. It might be that Lopez did rise to the challenge. You Go Mr. Lopez! Put Lopez on the watch list for Aug 30th.
Can he keep up the effort and continue to impress at the Colts game? Stay tuned.

Trevor Nowaske ILB is the interesting one. He is a small school kid who is long for the position and plays well w/o having NFL experience. He stood out early in early training camp.
A sneaky good young talent.

Thanks for posting this. I'm going to be really interested in seeing if any of the players that were counting on to contribute this year improve, in particular the rookies now that they have an NFL game under their belts. It's great there's some unheralded guys that played well but we really need second year guys and our high draft rookies to show continued steady improvement because we're counting on them more than some of these other guys. Having said that except in the case of where a really high round draft pick gets extra chances to perform I don't care when the players drafted. And if someone we draft in a six round turns out to be a solid pro that's great and if our third round pick turns out the stink then cut him and get rid of him.

A sneaky good young talent. Late 2023 waiver claim by Monti/Sears -- it appears from this article the Lions were hoping he would clear waivers but Sears had direct knowledge on him. Let me just say that in this article it lists his 3-cone time at 6.75 which is INSANE for a 6'3" 240 Lb. linebacker Nowaske claimed off Waivers from the Lions

Chris Speilman with the Lion’s FO would know a special LB prospect and I noticed him early in camp how he stuck out in drills and his size…what ever the listed measurements are he was the biggest ILB and very dynamic in his movement, it caught my eye and I had to figure out who he was.

I post annual PFF scores often as one tool to evaluate, but single game PFF scores are nearly useless. IMO you need at least a half season of games before they are telling you something useful. Whenever I pull up PFF ratings I look at the last three years of play if available, and then look for consistency of the score or trends, as well as context for low scores such as injuries, bad QB play for poor WR ratings, defensive scheme that hinders a defensive position room’s stats, etc.
One game ratings can swing wildly on a simple thing like a tackle missed or made.
