This is big week for Cards. The practices scrimmages with Colts on Wed/Thursday will be much more important than the game on Saturday. I suspect that game on Saturday will be much like the 1st game with limited to no starters. The scrimmages with all the 1’s including KM will be intense and physical. Eyes will certainly be on XT, he flashed in the Saints game. Now see heavy dose against their starters. Also, important has ZC taken the next steps or not. Monty might wait to after these all important scrimmages to see what we have in the overall Edge Room. Before he tries to sign a FA Edge (tried with Haynes but nothing there), or trade Jets anybody there? So, all eyes should turn to Indy big week. Sure the last preseason game will have no starters whatsoever.

Some matchups that I can hardly wait to hear reports about - - XT and ZC vs. Colts OL
- Colts 1st rd pick Latu (who has been referred to as a "game wrecker" out of Colts camp) vs. PJJ and Jonah Williams
- Cardinals Interior OL vs. Deforest Buckner
- Colts WR Pittman Jr. and Adonai Mitchell vs. young CB's Melton/Garrett Williams
- Last but not least - MHJ/M. Wilson/Dortch vs. Colts CB's
As far as the pre-season game itself, Colts played 1st team in preseason game #1 so I would expect their 1st teamers to play a couple of series next Saturday. JG seems intent on NOT playing 1st string in pre-season games ... I am hoping JG's strategy is he knows KM1/MHJ are so good that he wants to shock the Bills with an offensive onslaught in Orchard Park Week #1 of the regular season.

I'd love for that to be the case but I doubt Sean McDermott is going to sleeping on the Cardinals in his home opener. There's no doubt the "hail Murray" is still fresh in his memory and he won't be looking for a repeat.

I am sure there will be a great amount of improvement from them before the season opener.

The Bills game is very interesting and I am sure 97% of their fans has circled the game vs. Cardinals as a sure win. I believe that with the new "toys" for Drew Petzing including KM1 going under center more often that the Bills defense will see brand new offensive alignments and personnel groupings making it very difficult on their new DC. Additionally the Bills took heavy hits at safety and other secondary players which could lead to blown assignments. It should be noted the Bills have a division game AT Miami 4 days after their home opener.

I think the bills is the perfect opener to get jump started

Miami in division and the speed of Miami on a short week after the season opener can create distraction for the Bills. The Bills have some questions marks more on the defense and the WR position. A loss to the Cards or getting beat up by the Cards and then having to face Miami on a short week really makes the Bills week two match up a huge challenge...0-2 for the Bills is a real possibility.
