We still can’t ignore the elephant in the corner…yeah…there is optimism…but until the QB is shown to be your answer as franchise QB in this rebuild…big money on other pieces the team may “need” is not going to be spent IMHO…2025 is the “all in year” based on what improvement is shown this year. I think they can honestly compete for a playoff spot this year based on continuity in the coaching staff, the player personnel, the schedule and what the Lions have done in their own rebuild. I think BJ’s injury really hurts…as do all injuries…and probably places him (2) years away from seeing what his true NFL potential is…the question is…do they see enough “promise” in the offense as constructed and KM in particular to spend “outside money” on free agents to plug and go after a playoff spot? We shall see. But I just feel Bidwill will hesitate now on pulling the trigger until he sees more proof…just my opinion.

A move to bring in another outside rusher is likely at some point, even just to strengthen the depth on the roster. - However, I am not anticipating a mega money deal, so people may need to temper their own expectations. Teams know that true game-changers are hard to come by and won't allow such talent to walk away easily.

First of all, I'm really bummed out about this injury. He could have been a breakout player this year and just what we needed....and on a cheap contract. Still this kind of thing happens all the time and should be planned for.....but what's the plan? Does JG and MO think we have sufficient replacements....maybe they do. This is where it gets tricky for us fans, we don't know the players like they do. On the other hand, they may think they need to sign somebody. I don't think we know at this time. I guess we are going to find out. To be honest even with our cap space, I don't won't a big signing. Sometimes it works, but too often it's a big waste of money and reduces playing time for players that might shine given an opportunity. Remember, even with my/your optimism, this is a still a rebuild year. I know there my be exceptions, but for me, stay the course and don't get cold feet and do something dumb. Build from within and for the love of God, don't give up valuable draft choices. Okay....off my soap box....lol You can judge for yourself, but here is an interesting article listing the pros and on cons for 5 players. Pros, Cons of Cardinals Pursuing Big Name Pass RusherMaybe it's just me, but I don't see us going for any of them. The good ones will be expensive or maybe not even doable meaning their team may not want to give them up.....thus very expensive. The doable and less expensive may not be better than what we got. If we are going to add someone, the end of preseason when every team makes their final cuts may be the best time to take a look at our options. I bet that is what will happen.

Important, Bickley said he may have PTSD from former staff...he was making his point about the cap space, but the caveat is he trusts Monti much more than previous staff.

Regarding trading for Haason Reddick...seems JG and Rolis would know what impact HR would have on the existing lockerroom culture that has been created thusfar. Spend a 3rd round pick and sign him if you feel he can contribute on the field and also be a veteran leader.

It is a shame about 10 days ago a viable pass rusher who was available was resigned by the Dolphins for only $5M. Once Shaq Barrett retired, the Dolphins resigned Emmanuel Ogbah.
He had 5.5 sacks while playing only 25% of snaps for the Dolphins and he does play the run.
