Steelers signed Markus Golden yesterday. Most other available pass rushers, like Carl Lawson and Yannick Ngakoue are guys coming back from injuries. Cowboys are looking at Lawson. Injuries will happen and pile up as they always do. We need to decide if we think we should go for it this year competitively, or spend another rebuild year not necessarily worrying about the record and playoffs. If we want to go for it, we have money. The top FA (and youngest of the top 50) is Connor Williams, who I’ve mentioned on the Hjalte thread. Hello DH...
My preference this season is to just attain a winning record...if that means only 9 wins...I am good with that...
The reason I am ok with waiting until next season to really be competitive and go for a playoff spot next season is because by then...our Rookies from last season and our Rookies from this season will have one and two seasons of experience under their belt...
I was reading somewhere that Garrett Williams is doing really good in training camp. And it also sounds like Ojulari was also doing better than last season...I hope Ojulari won't be out for too long...because I was looking to see if he might break out this season...
Anyways, those are my thoughts...should Ojulari be sidelined for 6 weeks or longer, I think that we still have a chance to end up with a 9 win season. I am not for bringing Reddick in...let J.G. figure something else out...could there be an undrafted Free Agent working at a Supermarket that might be a sleeper? Ha ha ha...

I'm thinking we need to have some solid info before we just start throwing picks around chasing after whoever... There isn't much at edge out there as per FAs. I wouldn't be in favor in throwing picks and reaching for a player a team is willing to part with. Not saying he is a starting edge, but Mack Wilson would be a solid third down edge rush option...he is a valuable piece. I don't think we are a few pieces away, so I am inclined to agree. The next draft class is talent rich on the defensive side. If we score 30+ a game...and still have a losing season because we can't stop anyone...then so be it. I can at least improvement. Shaq Barrett just retired. Maybe go throw a bag of money his way as a stop gap. |

DRob has been absolute stud on the DL, he has also played edge at Mizzou. Wonder if he will get snaps on the edge now. But, I want Reddick if we want to win in 2024.

Nothing in the article that suggest's Reddick would be a team first player. Does he meet the price of admission? We will find out. |

First, I am so sorry for BJ. It was a terrible blow for a talented young player.
Now it is time for a teammate to step up. No matter what moves are made...a teammate has to step up. The road to success is paved with many challenges. Even though this is a huge blow to BJ and the team...the team has to excel when bad things happen. This is just one of many challenges in front of the team. How does the team respond?

It’s legitimate criticism. We had a lot of money to spend (and still do) and Monti opted to stick with a second year unproven rookie, a guy who is trying out a new position (Collins), and Gardeck. Monti isn’t a bad gm but this was a mistake. |
