Not to get carried away, but I'll finish up my string of posts with this one... I will not be surprised to see a few extra guys ultimately saying goodbye during final cuts, as I pretty much expect MO to add a few of the castoffs from other teams. He's probably licking his chops expecting teams to be forced to cut certain players he wants. Nice time to be in a good position to take advantage. As DH has mentioned, the team is in great shape as far as the salary cap, they can spend a little or a lot if they feel like it. I don't remember the last time it was like that. I do not expect any kind of a spending spree this year, but one never knows. monti mentioned that he’s always looking at ways to improve the roster. I’m expecting a move after the first preseason game depending on if he like what he sees.

One thing I liked about this regime is their no nonsense approach. They cut the fat immediately on this team. By that I mean the malcontents who lacked work ethic and/or had an attitude. Simmons was traded for virtually nothing and I can't remember the linebacker who was a second round pick . He was sent packing!! I love that kind of stuff. It's a team game and nobody is bigger than the team.
Of course you can't just cut everyone and not have a good plan to replace them. I have to say Monti has had a good plan. Collected a lot of picks, didn't overspend on FA's like Keim did and wait the course. I would have been very easy to overpay a bunch of stiffs to get you a few more wins.

The new GM has a new style. But he's got to prove his style is better than Keim's and all past underperforming GMs. So far, it's a mixed salad. Back to back 4-win seasons -- Keim's last and Ossenfort's first -- put a lot of Cardinals fans to sleep for 2 years. 2024 should be a wake up year. None of us fans have a clue how good this team will be in 2024. I'm optimistic as usual. I am so grateful to live in the United States where I can afford some optimism every year.

If the little dude stays healthy all year the cards make the playoffs. There I said it.
We forget too quickly that a couple years ago the Cardinals tore the league at the first half of the season. Kyler should be more mature now and all reports are that he is and the defense has to be better than it was.
