It is interesting that when Froholdt went out from practice after getting "dinged" that Evan Brown played center and rookie Isaiah Adams stepped into the LG spot on the first team OL. Furthermore, according to PHNX Sports' members who were at practice, the 2nd team LG was none other than 2023 rookie coming back from injury = Jonathan Gaines. This is interesting to me that this early in TC the two mid round draft picks of the last 2 drafts were the players running with the top 2 line groups and NOT the myriad of vet journeyman guys who tried to play LG for this team last year who are back trying again to make the 53-man roster It appears all these vets are behind the "young bucks." It appears from several reports that the 2024 draft class could be an A+ draft class with the top 3 guys quite possibly being future Pro Bowlers. On the DL, young guys Darius Robinson and Dante Stills from multiple reports are having excellent camps so far. In the secondary, Murphy-Bunting, Garrett Williams and Max Melton (I could add Starling Thomas also) appear to be locking down the top two outside corners with Williams a virtually lock as the starting slot corner. Of course the WR room with MHJ, Wilson, Dortch and Zay Jones are turning heads. Excellent article below on TC with a note on MHJ and this offense (Excerpt from link below): "Harrison has also lined up in the slot with some regularity, including during Monday’s padded practice. While he profiles as a true outside receiver, being able to play in the slot is crucial for an elite modern receiver. “If you put a good player at the same spot at every down in this league, defenses are gonna hone in,” offensive coordinator Drew Petzing said. “Whether they dictate the coverage or force the matchup.” Among the 36 receivers who saw at least 100 targets last season, only Seattle’s D.K. Metcalf saw fewer than 15 targets in the slot. The top 10 receiving leaders averaged 50.8 slot targets. In the early days of camp, Harrison hasn’t been the only Cardinals’ receiver to move all over the field, but he is by far the most notable." Training Camp standouts Thx for the summary and the link. I read all of it. Now, it's time to for me to write my novel...

I am really hoping that last years saga about how high the Texans pick would ultimately be and falling all the way down to 27 ... might end up being a blessing in disguise.
There is a multi-time DL Pro Bowler who in 2011 wasn't picked until pick #31 who had measurables virtually identical to Darius Robinson (latter has much better vertical and a little better bench press #'s). This 2011 draft pick also is able to play both inside and outside for the Steelers. That player's name whom I think Darius Robinson can be like = Cameron Heyward DL of the Steelers.
In full seasons for the Steelers (Heyward rarely misses games in his career), Heyward averages a little over 8 sacks per season and has had as many as 12 sacks in a season. This is what I am hoping for Darius Robinson.
NOTE: Right now I feel pretty good about all the young talent and the position room groups except for the EDGE guys. I really hope Ojulari and Zaven flash during some of the pre-season games or that reports from Indy when the Colts-Cardinals have scrimmages against each other make me feel more confident in this group.

My goodness a positive comment on Cameron Thomas ... almost thought he was in witness protection. IMO he needs to really "pop" in the scrimmages with the Colts and the pre-season games to be on the 53 man roster. Been wondering if the Broncos and Vance Joseph would have interest for a 2025 6th or 7th rounder.

Nice to see the DL getting some kudos too: ___________________________ If we had to peg one position group as a "winner" today, it would be the defensive line. Through the depth chart they generated penetration on what felt like every other snap. As a whole, the Cardinals defense has been strong in forcing turnovers and that trend continued today with an interception and fumble recovery.

Starting the 2023 season the Cards were in line for pick 1 and pick 2 or at least two top five picks in the 2024 draft. Then the Texans had too good of a year driving their 1st round pick to the end portion of the 1st round. It wasn’t making the Texan trade look as good.
Fast forward to getting Robinson with the Texan’s pick.
He could prove to be the best DL option the Cards could have hoped for despite the fall of the Texan’s pick.
At 6’5’ he can really mess up throwing lanes and his strength he is getting great push on his rushes. He is also a solid run stopper.
Another Monti special.

Today Paul Calvisi of 98.7 who is at every practice and talks with the coaches. He had a segment on 5 guys who are standing out and 5 who need to "step it up." Standouts - outside of the obvious - LJ Collier
- Jonathan Gaines
- Roy Lopez
- Starling Thomas/Demercardo (2023 UDFA's)
- WR Xavier Weaver - 2024 UDFA
Need to "Step it Up" - Desmond Ridder (JG had good comments today about Tune)
- Kei'trel Clark
- 4th round Safety nicknamed RABBIT - Taylor Demerson
- Marquis Hayes
- JONAH WILLIAMS - Calvisi says he is on maybe a little too much "cruise" control in TC.
Article about camp and another positive mention on Jonathan Gaines - Cardinals camp Notebook
