with Jim harbaugh as his new coach we will find out very quickly about Brendan rice and if he has character issues because Jim will not put up with it.

That's what he deserves if he has character issues.... I mean he has not been in trouble from what I know. I do not think it’s fair to drop that on him, but maybe was just cocky or not the right fit. Could be something totally different, but I don’t think a character concern rumor should start here. JG manta = TEAM FIRST above all else!!! Sounds like Rice might be ME-first so the Cards will not be selecting him.

3 CBs, a S, an Edge and an Edge/DT.
2 WR, a G, an OT, a blocking TE and a top RB.
That’s a haul. Results on the field TBD.
I do think our offense is about as set up as it could be, except Oline. Can’t fix everything. But compared to last year, we have K1 healthy with a full training camp ahead with his receivers and new offensive playbook. We have a better backup QB than Tune. Tune also has a full year in the system. We have the obvious massive upgrade we needed most, a legit WR1. And what a WR1 he could become! We have a sophomore year for Wilson, the hard earned spot for Dortch, FA acquisition Chris Moore, and rookie Palmer. We have one of the better emerging receiving TEs in the NFL in McBride, a decent backup receiving TE (used to play receiver), and now a legit massive, athletic blocking TE in Reiman. On the Oline, Paris goes into his sophomore year after a full season of snaps in every game as a rookie. This is the year for a tackle to emerge. Williams brought in during free agency should be an even swap for the loss of DHump. I haven’t been sold on Froholdt as our center but have to admit he played admirably. Gaines might be rising up to that spot, or at guard. We just don’t know. The rest of the guards…we shall see. We did take one in the draft pretty high. Not a guy I was even looking at or know anything about but gonna have to trust Monti here. Finally, a RB room of vet Conner, rookie Benson, and not too shabby themselves Carter, Demercado, Jones, Dallas and Mack should be stellar.
The defense? Maybe 2025 😐

I will say I'd rather have seen Monti pick Khristian Boyd, DT, Northern Iowa or Nathaniel Watson, LB, Mississippi State rather than WR Palmer.

Dadrion Taylor-Demerson TEXAS TECH Rnd 4, Pick 4 SAF Arizona Cardinals Senior 6.28 57th ranked player on Lance Zeirliens list 5'10" Safety? WTH? Don't know this matters, but Zierlein actually had him ranked higher than Max Melton. Different position, but he did have him as a 3rd rounder..

I will say I'd rather have seen Monti pick Khristian Boyd, DT, Northern Iowa or Nathaniel Watson, LB, Mississippi State rather than WR Palmer. Palmer probably a practice squad guy but if he makes the roster there are 7 likely roster guys who give Kyler a 6’-1” or taller strong target among 4 WRs and 3 TEs. We don’t have the tiny WR problem anymore. And hopefully the run game builds on last season. We gave it a top RB, a G, and a top blocking TE to help out during this draft. It appears rounding out the offense was the plan for the 2024 draft. Everyone but Conner will be young so the next few years are set aside from Oline. Defense has a bunch of bodies to compete and emerge…then address the holes in 2025?

Thank you, DH. I think the Offense is now much better positioned to score more than the opposition 50% of games in 2024. The Defense is hobbled partly by talent, and partly by rule changes that the NFL imposed on hitting, touching, and tackling techniques. This was the biggest Draft haul that I can remember in over 40 years, at least since the NFL went to the 7-round format. It's now up to the coaching staff to turn raw talent into Pro Bowl and All Pro talent. That will take time. Maybe 2025 as you forecast.

I pretty much watched the whole draft. I didn't comment much because I know so little about college players. My opinion wouldn't account for much.....lol
Having said that and considering what the more knowledgeable people here have said, we had at least a good draft if not a very good draft. Sure, there was a few quibbles here and there about this guy or that guy. Thats going to happen no matter who we draft. Still the consensus seems to be, we did more good than bad.
All things considered, and for the time being, I'm a happy camper right now.
With 12 picks....so many new toys to think about and dream of success.
Right now, it's fun to be a Cardinal fan. I haven't felt this good after a draft in a long time.
Now we got to wait an excruciating four months for the season to start to see just how far we have come to being a competitive team.
Go Cards!!!!

With all these Comp picks by the time you get to the 7th Rd you're actually picking an 8th rd pick for 2/3's of the teams. I really don't like this Comp Pick system. It needs scraping entirely (perhaps at the next negotiation date). - Replace it with eight rounds 1-32 x 8 = 256 picks.
