He’s not likely going to be a big name, fantasy TE who pop singers want to date. But he could quietly have a huge impact keeping Kyler upright and improving our run game. He’s like an extra guard.

He’s like an extra guard. 6’4”271LBS 4.64forty and benches 28 rep @225lbs he is stronger than many IOL in the NFL. I saw several Illinois players who were athletic, but totally missed his measurables. FB is done right when you can bully the opponent.

Hopefully how this is going to play out of that the Cardinals will run the ball down the other team's throat and then when they call a play action pass play there will be a wide receiver 10 yards behind the defense for an easy touchdown.

I was out to dinner with friends last night and so I wasn't able to follow this forum until I got home. I almost threw my phone in disgust when I saw this pick however this morning I've calmed down somewhat. He is the top blocking TE and his RAS is very, very good. The scout who pounded the table for this guy when there were still a LOT of good players on the board should be fired or get a promotion depending on what happens with this pick. On the positive side schematically, Petzing and JG are obviously looking to be top 5 in running the ball, more play action for KM1 and using a lot of 12 personnel. The drafting of a big, talented RB like Benson at 66 which is earlier than what I thought they would go after a RB (my guy Jaylen Wright of TN will be one of the first picks in Day 3 - 4th round), OT/G Isaiah Adams who reportedly was mauling people in Mobile and this pick shows the Cardinals want to move the chains on short yardage situations with "big on big". When you have a small QB who can't do the "tush push" which is still legal, then running 225 lb RB behind beefed up OL and top blocking TE is a smart move. Monti and staff either outsmarted people with this pick or it is a horrible reach with a lot of other good players on the draft board.

From a Cards website article:
(I like) mauling somebody," Reiman said. "I like putting my hands on somebody and doing what I want. Move them exactly where I want against their will. It's fun. I feel like it's a gift the Lord gave me and I am honoring Him in doing that."

Looks like a mauling, athletic blocking TE. I don't hate this pick. Those Athleticism Scores are spectacular. He's 'blocking Tight End' characterization is not a popular thing in this passing-mad NFL, and would explain why his talents have been down-played. - We already have a dynamic TE1 on the roster and Reiman's size and strength will be a big asset in the run game.

Cards brass must have skimmed through this board and saw that Native didn't like McBride and that he was too small, so they went and got a big TE.

I'm starting to hear a lot of hype for this pick. The size, athleticism is intriguing. Any extra weapons on offense and the chances for actually making the playoffs increase. I keep reading about the Cards roster and whether it's inferior or better, etc. Was it a lack of depth last season? They actually hung with SF in SF at first in that, played the Ravens pretty close. I noticed poor run D for sure. Maybe these drafts with MO will yield some fruitful results and they'll finally get to the playoffs.

Apologies for this, but I am as intrigued by his lack of belief in birds as I am by his potential contributions to the team
