Guy should play really well under Gannon. I was hoping that center would fall to 27 I'm holding my breath for Jackson Powers Johnson if I got his name right to be the Cardinals pick at number 35.

That 35 spot is super valuable. There will be trade options for sure.

I have been a big fan of Darius in 2023. I love his mental preparation and confidence. Great pick and at the right spot. He isn’t as old as some of the defenders and polished physically and mentally.

Excited to see how Gannon and Rallis use him. I bet they use him on the interior with Ojulari and Collins off the edge. This firms up the run defense and he can not so much collapse, but disrupt the pocket and get and create sacks. Ojulari and Collins will benefit, and so will our corners cuz QBs will be scared seeing him coming. Probably need a year learning and putting on even more mass. D Robinson is a bona fide gym rat. He will be bigger by September. The nutritionists and strength coaches will see to it. Robinson's highlight film also shows off his highgear speed. I'm impressed with the open field quickness. I hope any added mass doesn't slow him down. My understanding is he played at 305 when he was on the interior, and then got to 285 to play edge. He can do both and has room on that frame for more mass if he wants it. I think he could be moved around everywhere.

x.com/bobrack/status/1783904663328460840?s=61Defensive lineups now that we’ve added Robinson, Mack Wilson at LB, and Nichols, Jones and Tonga interior Dline during free agency. I think Robinson, Wilson and Nichols are all upgrades on anyone we threw out there last year. Not convinced on Jones or Tonga but we have a lot of guys to rotate in and out as well. Curious to see what becomes of Zaven Collins. Both Edge guys could see their production increase if the big guys in the middle are a big improvement on smooshing that pocket and pushing the QB’s out.

From Cardswire:
“Most important is that the Cardinals ended the 2023 season with linemen Leki Fotu, Phil Hoskins, Naquan Jones, Roy Lopez and Ben Stille on the active roster. Dante Stills and L.J. Collier, re-signed as an unrestricted free agent this offseason, were on injured reserve. Fotu is now with the Jets, while Robinson and veterans Justin Jones, Bilal Nichols and Khyiris Tonga have been added to the group since March.
Noting that the depth on the line was tested last year, general manager Monti Ossenfort said, “You can never have enough big guys.””
So we now have Robinson, Nichols, Tonga and Jones brought in as “upgrades”. Six more guys from last year to compete for the remaining Dline spots on the roster and practice squad. A few of those guys, like Stills and Lopez, are young and looked promising.
We gave Jones a three year, $30 million contract. That seemed really high to me for his resume. But he was ranked #35 best free agent by The Athletic and was the Walter Payton player of the year for the Bears last year. We will see.
Nichols got three years, $21 million. Both he and Jones were durable and consistent, if not dominant.
Tonga got a cheap, $1.75 one year contract. I don’t expect much from him, but he’s a massive NT and should compete on this prove it contract.

The last player we drafted that was touted as such was shipped off to New York.

If Robinson can play as many games and be as good as Darnell Docket was...I would be very happy with that. Don't forget that Dockett was drafted in the 3rd round at pick #64. Dockett was listed as RDT from 2004 to 2008. He was listed as RDE from 2009 to 2013.
I have confidence that J.G. will position Robinson where he feels he is the best fit. I loved that we got J.G. because he was a Defensive Coordinator. That gives me confidence he will get the most out of Robinson...

All Cardinal fans will be rooting hard for Darius Robinson ... to not only improve the defense but he is the "extra" pick received from the Texans so a 2nd contract so his success will be sweeter.
When you listen to the video about his preparation -- wonder if that kind of work ethic and preparation will hopefully improve Collins/Ojulari. My question is would Denver give the Cards a conditional 5th rounder for Cam Thomas trading to VJ's Broncos as I just don't know where he fits.

AZ is going to draft two WRs in the 2024 draft, however there is a lot of smoke about the Edge position. A couple months ago I thought a big edge player was the real need for AZ. Why? AZ needs to get great at stopping the run to get their smaller faster edge specialists in 2nd and long and 3rd and long. B. Nichols helps the run stopping edge position. However, the Cards need more help there. Dallas Turner and Chop Robinson are the only 2 in the 21 year old range...the rest are closer to the 23-24 year old range. Braswell is just over 22 years old and when taking a top edge player only Turner is the one worthy of a top 20 pick. Reality is Monti can get an edge player in the draft in the second or third round...in the 22-24 year old range...so why waist a 1st round pick outside Turner. A WR in the 1st seems like a lock. An edge player is looking rather slim at this point. Tackle and CB along with WR seem like the 1st round options.
The big edge players who look like real options are Darius Robinson, Justin Eboigbe, and maybe Braiden McGregor who are in the 2-5th round prospects. Booker is a smaller and faster edge players who if he drops to the 3-4th rounds may be in the mix as well, but he would have to drop a bit. These are the edge players if a trade doesn't happen to get Dallas Turner by the 10-12 pick. It would be a big ask to trade up from #27 to get Turner...so Chop in the 27-35th pick might be a possibility.
The two IDL players acquired in FA help AZ not to reach for IDL help.
Edge is interesting, but very thin in 1st round or early 2nd round. I do not see a reach to draft a lower ranked edge prospect early.
This is what I was thinking pre-draft…I like Eboibe later as well, but K Boyd may be a good later round option…Logan Lee is another late rounder in the later 5th to 7th rounds. There are others sooner as well

He indeed was everywhere at the snap but mostly starts on the outside.
