Game Week 6 Arizona Cardinals @ L.A. Rams
Cardinals vs Bengals Game Review
Earlier in the week Kyle Odegard sent out a tweet.
It showed the Cardinals secondary and the defensive backs passer ratings
allowed. Jalen Thompson was the best at 73.1. All the others
were near 100 or well over it. So, Jalen Thompson's being out for this game
definitely showed on the field. Joe Burrow had 317 yards passing and
RB Joe Mixon rushed for 81 yards. The real star for the Bengals was
WR Ja'Mar Chase hehad 15 receptions for 192 yards and 3 TDs. He may have
earned NFC Offensive Player of The Week with that performance.
Over on the Cardinals side, Losing James Conner to an unknown
knee injury turned this game around in the Bengals favor.
Josh Dobbs regressed a lot this week. Dobbs was late on getting rid
of the ball on several occcasions. He threw his first interception on the season
which turned out to be a pick 6 for the Bengals. Late in the game, Dobbs
had his second Interception, The call to go for it on 4th down
really hurt the Cardinals when they would have been down 24-23 had they made the field goal
instead, The missed PAT earlier by Prater ( snap caused?) may have influneced that decision.
Dobbs had another strip sack fumble this week. That is a sticking point for him this season
The Cardinals never quit but did end up losing by two touchdowns. They did get a pick of
their own against Burrow by K'von Wallace his 1st NFL INT. Another great defensive play
was the 4th down and goal stop where Antonio Hamilton was key in stopping Joe Mixon.
New Punter Blake Gillikin AVG 54.8 yds on 4 punts which will keep him around for awhile.
The Cardinals travel west to LA to face the Rams. WR Cooper Kupp is back from injury
and will be a challenge for the Cardinals secondary. The lack of depth is very evident
even to the average Cardinals fan. Injuries are starting to take a toll that will
keep the Cardinals out of the win column.
Coach Gannon still has these backups playing over the heads for the most part.
A good example is DL Dante Stills. He continues to improve his game.
Look for the Rams to exploit that lack of depth weakness.
The Cardinals won their first meeting with the Rams in 2022 37-20.
