Hi Everyone: Cardinals, Viking Fans and Fans from around the World.
The Arizona Cardinals travel to the confines of U.S. Bank Stadium
in Minneapolis Minnesota to take on the Minnesota Vikings.
The Cardinals are now 1-1 in the preseason and are coming off
a 38-10 thrashing by the Kansas City Chiefs. The Vikings are 0-2
in the preseason and loss to the Tennessee Titans 24-16 last weekend.
Look for the Cardinals to exploit the run defense of the Vikings this
coming Saturday. The Titans averaged over 7 yds per carry and
just like the Cardinals vs the Chiefs most of it was just poor tackling.
The Vikings were impressed by the return of safety Lewis Cine who
fractured his leg last season in week four. Cine had a key sack on
The Titan's QB Malik Willis to force a field goal. Cine played the entire game
last weekend. Vikings Head Coach Kevin O'Connell seemed less concerned
about losing the game and was focusing in on September 10th vs Tampa Bay.
Arizona had its bright spots as well but overall this was not a good showing
even by a young team. Poor tackling was prevalent the whole game.
Former #1 pick Isaiah Simmons caught the brunt of criticism for his
seemingly lack of effort on some plays. He also drew a critical Unnecessary
roughness penalty that set the Cardinals back on a Kansas City scoring drive.
Running back Keaontay Ingram showed bursts into the hole as well as
power to ward off tackles with a second effort.
highlights of his TD Run
This week players will be fighting for those last few spots on the Cardinals
regular season roster. Our first team offensive line looks very good. The run
defense had way too many missed opportunities last Saturday vs the Chiefs.
The first team did fairly well early on forcing the Chiefs to punt.
The pass defense was non existent even vs QB Blaine Gabbert and the other Chief
backups exploited the secondary.
Coach Gannon and Def Coordinator Nick Rallis will be reassessing this
group as expected. Lets in the preseason on a winning note with a lot of progress
on both sides of the ball.
GO CARDINALS!
