27 out 67 is mediocre and over $10M is top tier pay and last year of contract means it is better to sign such a player in FA at a reasonable price. If he had a couple of years on rookie contract and production was better he would have trade value. Another Strong signing is better at least both parties are in agreement instead of getting a team’s player who is over paid and going into FA in 2024

They won't do a trade unless they agree on a salary.

Yes, but it would have to be a contract in line with his performance the last four years, not some imagined potential. He’s a decent Dlineman who should not have been picked #9 when the hype was that Aaron Donald store guys could be repeated.

Yeah the guy has upside and no one is gonna over pay him because he has not lived up to where he was drafted. I think that ankle injury and missing four games kinda hurt him so he will not be over paid. Right now it's just talk but I think the guy could be a good young anchor for the Dline and someone who could actually help us. Heck we might not even get offered a third for Hopkins but at this point I am ok with Hopkins staying and I would rather have a trade similar to this over a 3rd or 4th pick for Hopkins.
