Not the most settling feeling having the long snapper cut. Very promising year can go south fast with bad snaps. Hopefully this won't mess up the season. I think there are a lot of guys hiking balls into trees in backyards out there but what A strange release unless there was some method to the madness.

I think there are a lot of guys hiking balls into trees in backyards out there but what A strange release unless there was some method to the madness. This was a move on surface seemed dumb. Protecting players on roster is getting as difficult as explaining how the CAP works and how contracts count against the CAP. There is a loop hole in cutting vet players who have been in league 4 years or more. A team can cut them and keep them protected as they figure out PUP/IR designation for players prior to first regular season game. Not sure if my explanation is totally accurate, but long story short it was a move to free up a roster spot for other moves and no danger of losing Brewer. Here is the transaction list where he is resigned to team. 09/01 Cardinals place WR ANTOINE WESLEY and S CHARLES WASHINGTON on injured reserve. Place S ANTONIO HAMILTON on the non-football injury list. Re-sign LS AARON BREWER< CB CHRISTIAN MATTHEW and TE STEPHEN ANDERSON. Re-sign LB DEVON KENNARD to practice squad. Sign S STEVEN PARKER, S JOSH THOMAS and OL BARDARN TRAORE to practice squad. The surprise move on this list was Kennard to PS. His crying about how cruel the NFL is after his initial cut makes better sense with no other team interested in signing him and he will have to play and a reduced salary being on PS. Unfortunately his poor play must have been justified when he was cashing big checks with little to no performance. NFL must have been less cruel in those days. Let’s hope Kennard can make a impact if activated from PS. Maybe team can get some return on investment and Kennard can increase his worth and everyone can be happy.

It's just mind boggling how much gets spent on these free agents. Dennard got paid a good amount and now all the way to PS. A couple free agents don't work out and it can really cause some issues. Thanks for explaining it. I did figure it must of been some loophole or technical type move as a long snapper is not thought of a lot but is super important, obviously.

I went to a game in 2006 where at the end of the game, Larry Johnson got pulled down by his dreads on a long run down the sidelines. I remember that 2006 season and frustrating it was. The Cards looked good at times to start that season but there were some tough heartbreaking losses like to the Chiefs that day in 06.

so...This is very concerning.
One hasn't practiced for about 3 weeks. Another was considering retirement. What gives?
...Likely overreaction.

Did any of these guys -- Watt, Hudson, Mullen, Golden, McCoy -- lift a finger at a preseason game? I did not think so. So, why are they absent from practice now? This is the time to practice, hit some red meat, and get all sweaty.
