JustTwoBeers made a comment in another thread about the lack of Defensive talent on the Cardinals projected 2024 final roster. That got me to thinking about the next Draft in April 2025.
The above link takes readers to the projected Top 50 ranked players likely to graduate or declare for the 2025 Draft. The list is preliminary but gives us an idea of the potential defensive experts.
A couple names to watch at NCAAF games this Fall:
James Pearce Jr., DE, Tennessee. Pearce is 6-5 and 242 pounds. He is long, explosive and loose, making him a truly troublesome matchup off the Edge.
Mason Graham, DT, Michigan. Pair Graham with Darius Robinson and the watch opposing offenses get crushed every weekend.
Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas
Will Campbell, OT, LSU
Another idea to ponder is the best offensive playmaker available in 2025. The Cardinals added superb WR and RB talent in 2024. QB Murray is in a "Prove It" year in 2024. If he underperforms contract expectations, QB's named Beck, Ewers, and Sanders will get Ossenfort's attention at the next Draft!

I can’t do a 2025 draft post without starting out with Landon Jackson. He was my original Edge player before returning to Arkansas for his SR year. He is 21…so he will be 22 next draft. He is a baldy so like our former cosmo-back they have a similar look.
Landon is a physical freak 6’7” and about 285 LBs currently. He had a season high of 3.5 sacks against Alabama and year total of 6.5 and 44 total tackles. A top 20 ranked prospect in 2023.
Like a taller and faster Darius Robinson. I think the Cards would benefit from two tall, long and strong DEs on first down who can move to a 3tech on long yardage downs. Make teams think twice about running on first down and then having the length to take away passing lanes in long yardage downs.

To get a legitimate look at the 2026 draft…as a true freshman the next “Texas Tornado” with a great spin move Nic Scourton DE 6’4” 265 LBs.
With all the members getting more involved in draft prospects and the early threads on prospects…It is getting more difficult to get a jump on them, before another poster.

Thanks for Jackson's name. Jackson could become a big newsmaker for the Arizona Cardinals a year from now. He is a smart man to return to school for one more year of maturing and education. Young men need as much of both before beginning the rest of their lives.

EZ….where is Jack of all trades Edge Ohio st Jack Sawyer 6’5” 260 LBS
He is currently 21 years old and has three years of experience plus 2024 and as a rotational player has 11 sacks so far in his career. Built like the Bosa’s.

You and J2B are causing brain overload. Presently, the Cardinals do not have a dozen picks in 2025. It looks to be a normal Cardinals draft year with maybe 6-7 chosen. If Sawyer et al are awesome, and the Cardinals win a bunch of games, it will be hard to draft the best in 2025 like we did in 2024.
Keep those cards and letter coming for the 2025 Draft class. This data helps all of us focus on the special guys next September. Some will rise to the top by April.
OBTW, no thanks on injury prone Bosa Bros. If you fine JJ Watt #2, that will work for me.

Players to watch in 2025 at defensive need positions (LOADED with Front 7 Prospects):
Harold Perkins OLB LSU
Walter Nolen DT Texas A&M
Travis Hunter CB Colorado
Benjamin Morrison CB Notre Dame
Mykel Williams DE Georgia
TJ Sanders DT South Carolina
Patrick Payton DE Florida State
Mason Graham DT Michigan
Danny Stutsman LB Oklahoma (6'4" 241 lbs) - 104 tackles in 2023
Will Johnson CB Michigan
Landon Jackson DE Arkansas
Gentry Williams CB Oklahoma
Abdul Carter OLB, Penn State
Tyleik Williams DT Ohio State
Kenneth Grant DT Michigan
Ethan Burke DE Texas
Princely Umanmielen, DE, Florida
Daylen Everette CB Georgia
David Bailey OLB Stanford
Bear Alexander DT Georgia
James Pearce J. DE TN
Deone Walker DT KY
JT Tuimoloau DE Ohio State
Nic Scourton DE Purdue
Jack Sawyer DE Ohio State
Since you highlighted Stutsman at OU, I went to ESPN to check him out. He's a senior and will get loads of attention in the Fall. It also seems that ESPN has a different 2023 performance data sheet on Stutsman...note 51 solo tackles...not shabby! I assume then that the 104 tackles, noted above, includes assists. Anyway, we all love the prospects list for Defense! Keep 'em coming.

Good thread and I appreciate the shout-out. Seems like there are some quality edge guys coming up next year. Thankfully, we will hopefully not have any gaps in our offense after this draft, so we can focus on defense for our hopefully 2025 superbowl run
The good news for the Cardinals is the 2024 draft's depth was at WR/OT while the 2025 draft is deep in DL/Edge.
Here is an article from WF on the J. Newton slide in draft and reasons for it ... probably why the Cards jumped all over Darius Robinson at #27 then waiting to #35 and have another team jump them. I had read some pre-draft analysis that Newton sometimes got washed out too easily on running plays and this is probably another reason D. Robinson was on Monti's Big Board higher than Newton.

As a college football season precedes next year I wish everyone here would spend at least a few minutes on Google checking out the Brady cook. The quarterback at mizzou. And several 20-25 early draft projections they have him listed as the 676 best player available. Sometimes I wonder if people who write those articles even watch football at all. He may not be a first-round draft pick maybe not even a second round draft pick but he is definitely higher up in the top 676 players. Remember his name

With Texas and OU joining SEC this year, it's going to bring a lot more exposure for these kids, including the Mizzou kid, because no other conference will be able to come close talent wise. The SEC was already night and Day better but by adding two more powers, the distance between it and any other conference will now be laughable.

I would like to think that but more than likely what's going to happen is goes like Missouri will get even less exposure because they'll be two more big name universities in the conference. It really bugs me because none of the local networks in the state of Missouri will Air the Missouri tiger games.

I understand the complaint for MO residents that can't get enough Mizzou games on free TV. The MO taxpayer money goes into state universities' coffers. Why pay twice?
The football games are televised, per my research. There are several pay-to-watch options. Ref: CBS nationally, KMOV (Channel 4) in St. Louis and KRCG (Channel 13) in Columbia, Mo. Live stream: CBS Sports and Paramount+. Radio: KTRS (550 AM and 106.1 FM) in St. Louis, other radio affiliates across Missouri and online through the Varsity Network

End Zone: Az80sGuy, that is absolutely true. Also, teams can't win w/o FGs. Ask the 49ers after that embarrassing wimpy Kicker at CLE on Sunday. A highschooler can more accurately kick a 30-yard FG. To be clear, I am happy with the 49ers loss.
