The Cardinals last playoffs appearance was January 27, 2022. The Cardinals played the Rams in Los Angeles. Final score: Rams 34, Cardinals 11. The game killer was Rams defender Long making a 3-yard INT off Murray for a TD. That short INT/TD was an NFL playoffs record, I believe. EZ...
I can't believe I forgot that...not sure why I was thinking the other...thanks...
No problem, my friend. We got each other's backs on this Forum!

I think both lines will be better. I think this dline will stop us from being gashed like last year in the run game and hopefully we can get offenses off the field. I am gonna say it the oline is better and we were a top 5 rushing offense last year now I hope we keep running the ball and now add a passing attack. I think Trey is gonna greatly benefit from Harrison and teams I think will have three guy's that can hurt them in the passing game from our offense but I can't forget Dorch. I think we have good coaching and the team if it has the tenacity of last yer watch out. I need to see that “top 5 rushing offense” continue into this season before I’m 100% sold on it. I will say I’m finding myself in the weird position, considering we just drafted Marvin Maserati Harrison Jr, where I’m more pumped about seeing what this draft does for our run game. Add Benson and a ridiculously strong and athletic blocking TE, a hopefully healthy Gaines and the new rookie G, and Paris’ sophomore year along with Kyler being more comfortable under center. With MHJ and McBride out there, is the defense going to risk stacking the line against the run? As I’ve said, I still think our defense will be a weak link, though it should be slightly better at every level. Depth is also still an issue. As always, pray for season long health. I just looked at a 2025 mock draft and it is the exact opposite of 2024 - defensive talent was selected about 70-75% of the time. I believe PJJ had something "click" in 2nd half of the year and expect to see a good jump from him with consistently good performances. LG - Gaines or Adams hopefully earns the starting nod and thus really helps both the run & pass game with a big upgrade from last year @ LG. I will say our new rookie TE in 12 personnel should improve the offense in one of the most important stats for an offense - 3rd and <=3 and 4th and 1 .... MOVING the chains on short down situations keep drives alive resulting in more points and giving the defense more rest. The 3 biggest question marks on defense are: - Will the DL rotations stay healthy and with the 3 new free agents and D. Robinson .. is the DL stout enough to stop the run vs. the NFC West foes who ran it down our throats in 2023. First game vs. Rams, Cards outplayed them in 1st half until McVay just started to run the ball 85% of the time.
- The "Zaven Collins Experiment" - can the young edge rushers Ojulari, Collins, X. Thomas & D. Robinson produce 35+ sacks as a group ?
- Garrett Williams is another year away from ACL injury so I expect a very nice jump from him; however the secondary is going to be VERY young as the vet of the group (Bunting) is only age 26. JG knows how to coach secondary players and I have to hope he had a lot to do with the 2 CB draft picks. P.S. Hoping K. Clark will get himself back out of the doghouse to provide adequate depth.
- NOTE: Secondary has got to be better than 2023 - which shouldn't be that difficult since opposing teams sought out WR's who were being covered by Marco Wilson last year as he was dead last amongst CB's in how many yards he gave up.

I predict a strong start, Kyler coming out of the gate playing to win, but whenever the first tough loss comes he will stop putting effort in and we will lose almost all the rest.

I am worried The Cards are going to be a top 5 run stopping defense and a top 10 pass rushing defense.

I think it's about health, Murray, scoring points with least an average defense. I could picture a strong running game. Protecting Murray and stopping the run will be big factors in how much confidence this team will have. Murray also will have to not throw as many picks. If everything goes right maybe 9 wins and a wild card, but we'll have to see. Both offensive and defensive lines, the trenches will be so important to this season and the game script for Kyler and the offense. If the D can actually stop somebody; the offense can be more balanced. If the oline gives KM time, then the offensive passing game can be a lot better.

With this draft, at the very, very least the Cardinals are a lock for the playoffs. I don't think they will make it to the Superbowl this year, but next year at this time they will be much more likely to be drafting fourth from the bottom of the list rather than fourth from the top. And it will be many a year before the Cardinal players get to go on vacation in January again. . . . . . . I love and share your optimism for the 2024 Cardinal season. The Bears, Packers and Eagles also had solid drafts and the Vikings got their QBOF. Kevin O'Connell and Matt Lafleur are two of the best head coaches in the NFC and the Lions aren't regressing anytime soon. The NFC North will have something to say about January NFC wild card teams. IMO, If the Cardinals can win 3 games against divisional foe's (.500 in their NFC West schedule), they have a shot to be a relevant wild card contender come Christmas and New Years.
