Signing Jonah is at least a lateral move at LT...he only has to be as good as Hump. Williams is younger and almost 3000 snaps at LT in the NFL. Jonah is an LT and hated the move to RT last year. #11 overall pick from Alabama who is 26 and doesn't miss games. He had a great 2021 season when the Bengals were balanced in run/pass. 2022 and 2023 pass-heavy offense did him no favors as well as being forced to the right. Monti is showing his understanding of the market and getting the best bang for the buck. This is a solid signing. Trench improvement. Media is saying he will play RT and Paris will still make the switch to LT. I’m not so sure… What are you thinking for our first three picks now? I’m thinking WR1, DT, G. Maybe Edge or CB instead of DT or G.

Completely takes care of the tackle spots for 2 years. I’m just curious which side each will end up on. I say battle for LT and best man wins.

Winners of Day 3
“Winner: Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray
Shortly after releasing left tackle D.J. Humphries, the Cardinals beefed up the team's O-line by inking his potential replacement, Jonah Williams, to a two-year, $30M deal ($19M guaranteed).
Williams has played left tackle in the past but can move to the other side. The former 11th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft solidifies a line that PFF ranked 25th in the league. Meanwhile, his experience could allow another year of maturation for second-year tackle Paris Johnson Jr., who was forced into action on the left side during his rookie year.”

Some solid OL and CB options available in the 3rd round. I would take Fiske at #35. It would not hurt my feelings to get MJH, Robinson, Fiske, CB Green FSU, and OL Puni, McCormick or Bebee

Kiran Amegadjie seems interesting...36" arms. JPlayed at Yale though...so competition may be a little suspect...but from what I gather...he dominated at that level

I’m just curious which side each will end up on. I think Jonah Williams will play Left Tackle, two reasons - 1) That's Jonah's 'natural' position, and if he was advised that he was to play at RT in Arizona then he probably wouldn't have signed and awaited a LT opportunity elsewhere. 2) Paris Johnson Jr is still new to the NFL and moving him across after one season doesn't sound a great idea to me. He has built up a good relationship and understanding with Will Hernandez and such, between Tackle and Guard, is not something you give up lightly. Got to say this is excellent news and blows the myth of 'lack of ambition' out of the water.

NFL network is reporting that Williams will start at RT and Paris will go to his natural LT. Not sure where they are getting this info. It should be noted that Williams had his highest PFF grade this last year at RT, over 80 grade.

This is FANTASTIC news!!! Jonas Williams likes and has played LT better that at RT for the Bengals. JVV has stated over the last month that PJJ was going to stay at RT as the coaches really liked how PJJ and Hernandez played together on the right side.
More importantly - this move frees up the team to use #27 on a Young DL stud like Byron Murphy JR, Newton, K. Jenkins or Michael Hall.

He didn’t like or want the move to RT and did not perform well there last season.

More media conjecture, filling space as if meaningful.
JG has that decision power, and does not leak his plans.
I suspect Williams will be a pleasant surprise for us wherever he plays.
